Allow us to forget about California, and get ready for what should be a fun weekend of racing.

Always wish they had decided to make this place the cookie cutter for all the new tracks that came up up during the late-90s/early-00s boom.

Martinsville has grown on me quite a bit the past year or two, but I still don't quite understand why so many people consider the track to be among the very best. Location/seating issues aside, I can think of at least five or six other short tracks they don't even race on that I like more than Martinsville.

That being said, I do have plenty of respect for its long history and commitment to NASCAR and its fans. And from a technical standpoint it's definitely a challenge unmatched by any other track they visit (with all the stress on the brakes and drivetrain).

Jeff Gordon has 3 finishes outside the Top 20 at Martinsville, 31 top10 and no DNF in 38 starts. With the luck he is having lately this may change this week end. :(

This'll be the race where his luck turns around. Well, I hope it does, it's so frustrating being a fan of his sometimes.

I enjoy Martinsville, you know there will be plenty of contact. Still wish I'd gone before they moved the NS tracks back away from the Speedway. Between the race and the trains, I think I'd be set for an enjoyable afternoon.

Yep, and we'll probably get a few shots of them during the race coverage again. I'd like to try them someday since we always hear how good they are.

They are really good hot dogs, it's not an exaggeration, I think I ate ten of them the last time I went to Martinsville.
