Title speaks for itself.

Lot of great storylines this year. Bayne pulling off the upset victory in the 500, Regan Smith getting sweet redemption for his 2008 Dega screwjob, Ambrose getting his long-awaited Cup victory, Brad K's resurgence from midpacker to a surprise championship contender, Kyle Busch finally getting punished for his constant bullshit, Jimmie Johnson shocking everyone by not being in contention at season's end, and a title run that truly went down to the final lap. Definitely one of the best seasons so far this century.

Fuck it, 10/10 for me.

Interesting storylines, but some very boring races along the way. I rate 7. lol.

I'm not quite sure if I can give it a 10. There were still a handful of pretty boring races, and we have still had to deal with the two car tandem at Daytona and Talladega which is pretty lame. They're supposed to be the most exciting races of the year!

However, I loved seeing the underdogs like Bayne and Regan win this year, which is one of my favorite things to see. Also it was great to see a new champion, and seeing them battle so hard for it for the the last two months. I felt driver personalities came out a lot more this season than past seasons too.

I gave it an 8. :)

Thought it was pretty good overall with some boring races and silly things that stood in between like others have said. I guess that's an 8.

I gave it an 8 as well. You had 5 (holy crap!) first time winners, and absolute upsets among them with Bayne and Regan Smith. For me personally, I had a fair amount to cheer for as the 24 got out of its recent funk, and won three times.

That being said, 7 of the 10 chase races were absolute snooze fests. Otherwise, I thought it was a pretty good year.

I'm also surprised at the high grades, considering how much bitterness is tossed around in these forums. lol Not saying that's a bad thing, of course. The fact that there's a "Fuck You NASCAR" thread speaks volumes. :)

I loved it. Only the fact that Jimmie Johnson didn't win already deserves a big 10!

The best races of the year IMO were all in the Chase. Perhaps my opinion might be a little biased because I haven't watched too many regular season races, only Daytona and some other key races. But the races from the Chase were really exciting, they were enjoyable hours spent in front of tv on Sunday afternoons.

Special regards to Charlotte, Talladega, Martinsville and Homestead, in a lower degree Texas and Phoenix.

Glad that Tony Stewart wasn't on a diet. He was actually very very hungry...hungry for victory! :D

This season had some good story-lines indeed. The best ones IMO:

1. Tony Stewart wins the championship
2. Brad Keselowski announces himself among the big players
3. Marcos Ambrose wins his maiden Cup race
4. Trevor Bayne wins Daytona 500
5. Regan Smith wins at Darlington
6. Dave Blaney equals his career-best finish
7. Kurt Busch still sucks
8. Carl Edwards didn't win the championship
9. Chase still sucks, but the Homestead finale was right up there with Atlanta 1992.

9/10

The only thing missing was Dave Blaney in victory lane... maybe next year?

I'm a sucker for first time winners. The competition this year seemed as balanced as it's ever been. 18 different winners is incredible, especially compared to a year like 2008 where three drivers alone won 24 races. This season (like many in past years) had it's extremely dull moments, but it also had some of the most entertaining racing we've seen in a while. California even produced a not so dull race this season. This season of racing is definitely an upswing from recent years. And to top it all off with quite possibly one of the greatest single race drives in history by one driver just put the icing on the cake. 8/10 for me.

Some of you guys are failing to mention Kyle being parked. That was a HUGE storyline.

a honourable mention: the appalling performance of the mayor of the garage

Tony Stewart wins the title.

10/10

Gave it a 9 for a variety of reasons:

-five first-time winners (Trevor Bayne at the Daytona 500, Regan Smith at the Southern 500, David Ragan at the Firecracker 400, Paul Menard at the Brickyard 400, and Marcos Ambrose at Watkins Glen)
-great season out of Brad Keselowski, which included him making the Chase as a Wild Card
-a lot of races that had exciting finishes
-Austin Dillon winning the Truck Series title with the #3 truck
-Ricky Stenhouse getting a chance to shine after NASCAR wouldn't allow Cup regulars to compete for the Nationwide championship
-Kyle Busch finally getting the punishment that he deserved after intentionally wrecking Ron Hornaday at Texas
-Sprint Cup Championship battle coming down to the final lap, and all after Tony Stewart just made it into the Chase after not winning any of the 26 races before the Chase.

I gave it a 7. The racing was a bit lacking at some points but there were more great storylines than in any other season in recent memory. Sprint cup races often saved the weekend after extremely lacklustre truck and nationwide races. The feeder series this year were worse than I ever imagined they could be.

8 for me. Intermediate track racing still needs a lot of work and I was constantly aggravated by seeing how long the tires held up at a lot of races this year. Otherwise, lot of great things, the first-time winners, the wildcard rule and certainly the awesome points battles in all three series.

Good season, but gave it a 6. Why? because Montoya's horrible season made it terrible to watch for me.

Yeah, I forgot to mention Brad Keselowski's rise... him beating out Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin (two dickheads who had treated him like poo before, and he gets the last laugh) and even Jimmie Johnson is amazing. What was truly remarkable and gutsy was him winning at Pocono immediately after suffering the broken ankle.

I gave it a 8. Had some cracking moments, which I wont go into as other people have already outlined them, but also had some really boring races and of course had the chase, which is rubbish.

To be fair, I wasn't expecting complete across-the-board epicness for every single race. The two-car tango and fuel mileage races are still a big debate topic as to whether they bring genuine excitement or not.

Can't forget, we DID got a pretty great finish at California, a track notorious for being shit, so that's a plus for me.
