Again, all valid points, but I still find Stewart more insufferably obnoxious (and thus thoroughly unlikeable). I can't comprehend how so many people are in love with Stewart, but I know I'm not going to change minds about it so I deal with it and move on. I suggest you all do the same.

The Busch brothers are two drivers that could lose their sponsorships and rides and I wouldn't give a shit. In fact, I might be happy. They're fucking pricks.

Kurt in particular seems to have some deep hatred for the media and reporters. The way he treats them makes Tony Stewart look gentlemanly by comparison. I bet Jerry Punch wanted to live up to his name right there.

Agreed, for sure. I once believed I could somehow change the minds of Earnhardt nation... ah, to be young and dumb again. Of course, these are opinions, and so long as we can disuss them as adults without it degenerating into bickering (we're fully capable of that, otherwise I wouldn't bother coming back to TBK), then that's what it's all about.

It's hard as hell to get racing discussions without expletives thrown around liberally!

Also, pretty classy follow-up after flippin' the bird by KuBu. Jerry Punch doesn't deserve that - he's been reporting from the pits since Kurt was in diapers, for cryin' out loud.

This. I'd much rather have Kyle Busch win a Sprint Cup title than Earl, and that's saying something considering how much of a dick Kyle is.

The driver whos finished 2nd in the championship has typically had a bad run the following year based on previous years

Wanted Duckboy to win so I'm sad but Tony deserved it 100%.

Yeah, haha, let's be realistic. I'm surprised you weren't the subject of a lynch mob. I wouldn't mess with Earnhardt fans. They're a scary bunch.

I just knew when Carl had to waste the good off his tires passing Brad, it was over. Him and Tony were getting 10/10 out of their cars and that hold-up made all the difference. That really blows but that's racing.

Dammit, no-one told me Tony's on-board was free to view on NASCAR's Facebook page! :(

Hope someone captured that because that would've been EPIC! 8O

Funny you mention that, I was thinking about that this morning. Also, when the 99 pitted to top it off with fuel; I know they could only put so much fuel in, but them putting on four tires instead of just two could have made a difference, as well. They were out on those left sides for a good 10 laps or so, and Tony's were nice and fresh from having pitted later.

If they would have sprung for the lefts as well, he would have lost two positions MAX, if that.

Of course, as Dave Mustaine once said; "Hindsight is always 20\20, but lookin' back, it's still a bit fuzzy!"

hahah I did a fair amount of it at the old TBK. lol I quickly learned that didn't do anything but make people mad.

I realized he was a legend and all, I just couldn't accept people didn't like the drivers I cheered for. It's initially a hard lesson for a hardcore race fan to learn.

Now we know why Kurt's wife called it quits.

Also, if anyone has the opportunity to go to Homestead-Miami Speedway, I would highly recommend it. The facilities are absolutely the best I've ever seen at any motorsport facility, on top of the awesome racing that goes with it. TV does no justice to how much is going on around the track.
