The series is off to the bullring at Bristol for some short-track racin' under the lights. Will tempers flare once again, or will we see another underwhelming race by Bristol standards? The ARCA fellas return to the half-mile Madison Int'l Speedway for the first time since 1973, and if you enjoy seeing Ryan Newman buttrape a field of comparatively underpowered cars, make sure to catch the Whelen Modifieds airing live on SPEED at 6pm just before the Truck race. (thanks Shermanator for the FYI)

Cup: Irwin Tools Night Race - Saturday @ 7:30pm ET on ABC
Nationwide: Food City 250 - Friday @ 7:30pm ET on ESPN
Trucks: O'Reilly 200 - Wednesday @ 8pm ET on SPEED

ARCA @ Madison: Herr's Live Life With Flavor 200 - Friday @ 8:30pm ET

Busch will probably win all 3 races at a canter again

It's so depressing that I'm not looking forward to this. Maybe Bestwick commentary will keep me entertained.

Bristol is a monument to the fact that NASCAR can find a way to fuck even the best of things up.

Why is Ryan Newman listed in the #77 for the Modified race? I thought he was suspended from the series until December 31st.

Our slogan is Racin' the way it ought'a be!

Needs changing to Racin' the way it never will be again! :(

I have tickets to the Wednesday doubleheader and for Friday. I should have tickets for Saturday by tomorrow.

His crew chief is suspended, not Newman AFAIK.

Wow you guys like to bitch. It's two line conveyor belt racing now instead of one line conveyor belt racing. The racing at Bristol was never very good, it just tore up a lot of equipment. It was more entertainment than truly good racing.

But at least it was entertainment. Now it's just shit.

It comes to something when the only races you plan to watch this week are the Mods and the Trucks....

Exactly.

There's nothing wrong with a bit of roughing up.

Really. Whatever you call it, the old configuration gave us something unique that nobody ever complained about, while the new one has found a way to mimic superspeedway racing on a half mile. Rarely is complaining more justified.

Exactly.

The old Bristol was cramped, it was narrow, it was fast, it was tough to pass, there was no way to get out of the way. It tested drivers' patience as well as driving skill.

Now what does it do?

:tumble:

Fuck NASCAR, fuck Bruton Smith. I will not watch this race. I hope the fucking thing goes caution free and Kyle Busch leads wire-to-wire with Jawnson coming in 2nd.
