Good idea, Rusty...I'll just wait 5 weeks to knock someone I don't like out.

Ah, stream has disappeared. Will they be starting the race normal time or is it already wet?

They won't even get it started. The rain is almost there.
Come the fuck on, its a nice day to make history. The best stock car races in North America should be able to handle a little rain.

We get to see 43 of the greatest stock car drivers in the world sit on their asses since they can't use or be trusted with racing in the rain.

This is retarded. Every other stockcar division that's had the opportunity to road race has done so in the rain (NNS, Canadian Tire Series, K&N, even fucking ARCA), so it must be ok to fuck with their championships and not Cup.

I live about 1 hour and 30 minutes west of the Glen and a 3 hour thunderstorm has just finished passing over here - headed due East. :/

Spent the Nationwide Race in the pitlane yesterday, was a lot of fun but glad I'm not there today, lol.

I don't buy the 'Cup drivers haven't raced in the rain, so why start now' argument that NASCAR puts forth. There's a few that have experience from Montreal, plus a bunch that probably have ran in the rain at some point in the Rolex series (Daytona or the WG companion race).

NASCAR always talks about how they have the best drivers in the world. Then fucking prove it and race in the rain, you pussies. Don't give me the crap about how they don't do it normally and therefore it wouldn't be fair. You gotta learn somehow, and the only way to learn is to just fucking go and do it!

Looking at the radar it could be at least another 2 hours before it stops. Hopefully I'm completely wrong.

Now that there's nothing going on-track, here's the guys in the field today with rain experience:

2008 Montreal:
Ron Fellows
Marcos Ambrose
Boris Said
Carl Edwards
Brad Keselowski
Greg Biffle
Clint Bowyer
David Ragan
Joey Logano
David Reutimann
Andrew Ranger

2000 WG Practice:
Jeff Burton
Bobby Labonte
Joe Nemechek
Matt Kenseth

1997 Suzuka:
Mark Martin

Formula One:
Juan Montoya
Scott Speed

Grand-Am:
Tony Stewart
Jimmie Johnson
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Andy Lally
Paul Menard
Robby Gordon

Open-Wheel:
AJ Allmendinger

If someone remembers other drivers having starts in the rain, I'll add them to the list. As it stands, 26/43 drivers in the field have experience running in the rain.

They practiced at Suzuka in the rain. Hell, they've even tested Watkins Glen in the rain with the old car. Tony Stewart ran rain tires for the driver swap with Lewis Hamilton.

Who was at the wet Suzuka race?

Years ago they ran Watkins Glen practice in the wet.

Off the top of my head: Dale Earnhardt, Terry Labonte, Jeff Gordon, Rusty Wallace. I know there's a lot more.

I can see looking out for the fans, but road-racing fans know what they're getting into as far as weather. It's not like WNY general sports fans won't sit out in the rain for a Bills game - Heck, they had 60,000+ sit in the rain for the Winter Classic a few seasons ago...
