Three other slots are open for the All-Star race, which can be obtained by the drivers who finish 1st and 2nd in the Showdown and another through the fan vote. Meanwhile, Friday night's Truck Series race will mark the highly anticipated NASCAR debut of Kimi Raikkonen for Kyle Busch Motorsports. And on Sunday, the Nationwide Series goes racing at Iowa, while the ARCA boys hit the road-course at New Jersey.

Cup: Sprint Showdown - Saturday @ 7:30pm ET on SPEED
Trucks: NC Education Lottery 200 - Friday @ 8pm ET on SPEED

Nationwide @ Iowa: John Deere Dealers 250 - Sunday @ 2pm ET on ABC
ARCA @ New Jersey: ModSpace 150 - Sunday @ 1pm ET

Other noteworthy events highlighing this busy weekend include the Sprint Pit Crew Challenge on Thursday night, the unique All-Star qualifying format on Friday, the Pennzoil Victory Burnout Challenge just prior to the Showdown, and the induction of the second NASCAR Hall of Fame class (David Pearson, Ned Jarrett, Bobby Allison, Lee Petty, Bud Moore) next Monday night.

ugh, are they still doing the burnout challenge? lol. The only thing left to look forward to in that thing is Kyle putting his car in the wall.

There's only so much you can do while doing a burnout, unless somebody can find a way to get the throttle to stay engaged and stand on top of the car. That would be awesome.

Something to set the rubber aflame with. That'd be cool.

He may qualify in the showdown. He's been pretty fast all year so far.

If he doesn't get in through the open the most likely.

Let's see if Junior doesn't get wrecked or something, that could always happen.

Is Iowa a track that the Cup should go to?

Yeah that is a very good idea. Which means it'll never happen.
