It's the truth, plain and simple. If it's Jimmie getting wrecked, people are worried until he gets out and walks away.

THAT'S IT. END OF STORY.

Even after the three races are over, I doubt Carl would ever do anything on-track like that again. This is the most negative news to come through the sport in years, and I'm sure doing dangerous stuff like he did, he doesn't want to bring any more unwanted attention to himself.

People have been saying that the lack of severity in the penalty gives drivers a green light to do the same kind of thing - I'm sure drivers are all for payback, but the one golden rule is that you don't do it at the speeds Carl did it at. Also, drivers have a tendency of retaliating with a "oops, didn't mean to do that, sorry" attitude.

What we saw on Sunday was wrong on several levels, and you'd only see a handful of drivers actually do something that dumb.

FOX and ESPN are gonna hype the crap out of this to the point of aggrivation come Bristol.

(BTW, does the probation cover all 3 series or Cup only?)

It'll be Danicamania all over again. Carlmania doesn't have the same ring to it, though... :(

Today, NASCAR did neither, instead handing down to Edwards a three race probation that spans through all three of NASCAR's top series: Camping World Truck, Nationwide, and Sprint Cup Series.

If it covers all 3 series, is it a 3 race probation or a 3 race weekend probation?

1 Weekend would be a silly small probation IMO.

I think he's referring to the fact that not all three series will be running three races on the same weekend, meaning that the probation in one series might expire before another.
