IIRC that was supposed to be Ernie Irvan's first race back on the comeback trail, but rain washed out qualifying and delayed his comeback for North Wilkesboro the following week.

EDIT: Rain delay's over, race should start shortly.

Big mess at Memphis.

Looked like an oil line went away for Townley.

Townley blew his motor which called a multi car pileup.

Of course, it wouldn't be a 24 Hours of Memphis without a JWT crash of any kind or magnitude.

Took out a few start and park cars too so there's some people who wish they'd not bothered turning up this weekend...

John Wes Townley is absolutely the worst driver ever. Oh hai Im blowing up let me stay in the racing line and oil up the track and wreck all youz ppl. I knew hed cause a mess at Memphis, but to do it that way is ever more irritating that normal, considering he took out Eddie MacDonald who I was pulling for.
