At the time I didn't know what was going on, which is why I backed it down a bit and took it easy.

I'm thinking of taking a 2.5 hour drive to TBK's favorite shithole this weekend. Bowman Gray Stadium for the K&N East race. :)

Don't forget the designated drinking area off turn 4 that's caged in.

Just $12 a ticket. Lol.

When they come to Bristol, I can't ever seem to find anywhere where the K&N drivers are doing autographs... I think a lot of Kenzie Ruston and think she's in the Johanna Long boat of being very talented, just not getting the breaks... Mackenna Bell has also shown some promise with a couple of top 5's. Plus some of the other drivers like Ben Rhodes who will probably move up the ladder fairly quickly. Getting autographs is a reason I kind of want to go as well.

Hell, I'll even go to Gray Gaulding's line just to see if I can score some free Krispy Kreme doughnuts and if not, I might have to punch him for you Joe. :)

It happened again...Same guy..2 to go, he tried to turn me off of turn 2, then made a divebomb low (hell no I didnt give room) he uses the infield grass, I nailed the gas earlier and cut down infront coming to the white...he then proceeds to drive into my door after the race..I'll have video later.

And by wonderful, I mean shit.

There's typical short track racing...clean, hard...sometimes a little contact. A fight here and there. Mostly respectful.

And then, there's Bowman-Gray.

My thoughts on Bowman Gray as posted on the iRacing forum:

I often find that single-groove racetracks produce better racing than multi-groove racetracks. The drama is in the challenge of making a pass not in the effortlessness. However, Bowman Gray is beyond the scope of a typical single-groove track in that it is nearly impossible to make a clean pass. All too often drivers just shove each other out of the way instead of trying to actually race each other. As a result I see Bowman Gray as more of an entertainment venue than a racing venue.

Just trash. There is no reason why that place should still hold auto racing.

Yet they rake in the best attendance at a time when short track racing is struggling in the US of A. Stock car racing has gotten polished over the years but places like that is where it started and really took hold of people's interest. I read all these books about the sport's past and spectators jumping into fights between drivers/crew used to happen all the time during the sport's formative years. BG is a time capsule.
