This is the race I posted about in the crash video links with a car flipping over the wall. Beyond that, there was some good racing throughout the day, especially since the purse was the biggest ever for a street stock race, with the winner getting $11,000 and a jukebox. Worth a watch!

More plans for a National Super Late Model Tour have been revealed.

https://www.racingamerica.com/news/late-models/national-series-confirmed-for-pavement-super-late-models

I think this plan makes sense because each regional series will host 3 of the National Series events, so a lot of the regional drivers will get a chance to compete in some bigger races. The All-American 400 will be the season finale and isn't a part of any of the regional series. I'm looking forward to seeing more of their plans.

I guess that would make it 2 national tours now for next year if SRL & Ricky Brooks brings back their series next year (they had Citrus County (during Speedweeks), Berlin's 2 major shows & Mobile this year)

speaking of SRL, their finale at Irwindale will be live on MavTV in a few weeks.

And now I've put together my own highlight video from the footage I shot in the stands. 18 minutes long!

2 national tours confirmed

SRL is going old school & settling rankings by winnings; rather than use a points system

Here is the craziest racing story of the week. This is the Pure Stock car that's driven by Cameron Laytham, that was on it's way to take part in one of the support races for the Snowball Derby. Here's how it ended up in the bottom of a swimming pool. The hauler was sitting in the parking lot of a Winn-Dixie when the straps holding the car in place broke and the car rolled off the trailer, and went through two fences and came to rest in the swimming pool of a nearby hotel. The team is trying to fix the car in order to race this week.

Damn... :tumble:

Good luck fixing that.

Not only did they fix it, they finished 3rd.

Good on them! That's a lot of work.

Post subject:  Re: Local Racing Discussion

I can't imagine how much work they had to do to get the car ready for the race. No matter what happens the rest of the weekend at the Snowball Derby, I don't know how anything will top that story.
