Shane Clanton won tonight at Ocala in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - track took rubber pretty early from what I heard. Clanton was fighting COVID just a month or 2 prior as well.

Volusia's weather forecast is looking good tonight for the World of Outlaws season opener (weather.com showing earliest chance of rain being around 11PM local). As per usual, discussion on the World of Outlaws / All Stars portion of DIRTcar Nationals is in the Sprint Car thread. DIRTvision will broadcast the entire night of racing.

FloRacing will broadcast the bulk of the 2021 season at Stafford Motor Speedway this year. Only races excluded from this broadcasting deal is of course the SRX Series (which will be on CBS) and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (which will be on NBC TrackPass & NBCSN). Flo has also added $40k in bonus money for competitors.

Racing just getting underway at New Smyrna for night 2 of the World Series of Asphalt Racing after about an hour rain delay.

Preston Peltier won the SRL All Star Showdown at Irwindale. Race ended about 25 laps early due to curfew (or a bunch of locals crying before the curfew & calling the cops) it appears

Volusia was a washout, races canceled for Saturday. WoO & DIRTcar UMP Modifieds are on the schedule for tomorrow afternoon (running early to not conflict with the Super Bowl)

Ocala rained out their Saturday portion, races rescheduled for Monday

Apparently there was some on-track shit that boiled over into fighting in the pits after a sportsman race there last night, and it's resulted in the death of a track official who was trying to break up one of the altercations.

WTF?! Yeah, there was an incident on the last restart with just a few laps to go where the guy who restarted second got a better start than the leader and kind of crowded the guy through turns 1&2 and took the lead and the win. The guy did try to confront him in victory lane but it was broken up fairly quickly. So, something must have happened afterward, I'm guessing? I didn't even see the need for all the anger to be honest. Looked like a fair move to me. It was their big race of the week and a little extra of a payday.

very sad situation - Rusty was highly respected among the racing community between the Florida racing circles & during his time as a official for USAR Pro Cup.

New Smyrna finally got a clean night of racing in tonight w/ the Mods. Last few nights has been really bad in the lack of respect department between the drivers

Volusia packing in the track after getting hit by the same rain shower that hit Daytona - as usual broadcast is on DIRTvision
