Speedweeks thread already locked, so will sum up here too.

Good:

Kenseth won.
Dale Jr wrecked.
Dale Jr also took out Kyle Busch.
Allmendinger did well.
Some dicey racing.

Bad:

Really disappointing conclusion.

The fact it was called fairly quickly really annoyed me. Despite the decent racing, I'll give it a 5. I'm someone who prefers seeing 150 laps of "boring" racing and then 50 laps of increasingly more exciting racing. Although because that was the second 500 I've ever seen live, I don't find any of it boring.

Pretty good race, 7 for me.

Too bad rain and Earnhardt jr. ruined it.

Because the speedweek thread was locked, I'm going to say this about this. According to the recording station at Daytona Beach International Airport, the rain ended at 8:27PM local. Three hours to dry the track is bullshit it would be more like two. The race would have been restarting right now or within the next half hour.

I briefly switched it to Wind Tunnel last night at around 9:40 while Dave Despain was interviewing DW, and it was raining. Seems like it would have been a disappointment anyways.

i gave it a 7. It was an awesome race, would of been am amazing race if it got to finish! Just dissapointed NASCAR didn't try to dry it and try get the race finished, but it was still quite good.

Ambrose did a top job out there, i think he could of gone better if the race went to the finish, he looked like he was starting to get the hang of it but the rain came... Also AJ Allmendinger did a impressive race, i always thought he could do very well, and he showed it today! Hope he gets a full time ride this year!

Looking forward to the next race, as i believe it's gonna be a good year!

Gave it an 8 at first...

-2 for calling the race so quickly.
-2 for POPCORN JR noobing up the field.
-2 for NASCAR not starting the race earlier, thus avoiding the rain.
-2 just because I hate Brian France.
+5 for the free DirecTV Hotpass.
-4 for having a crap race being followed up by another crap race (Cali).
-1000 for that godawful Digger cartoon.

All in all, a crap race.

I gave it a 5. The racing was good but the massive anti-climax made this last week all seem a bit pointless.

Gave it a 3. This race was the epitome of current day NASCAR. Every freakin race has to have some sort of retarded controversy; whether it be favoritism, mysterious cautions, or botched calls. Like I mean every race. Shit sucks.

Oh and it would have been nice if NASCAR waited more than 20 minutes to go LOL RACE OVER ITS FUCKING HUMID OUTSIDE BITCHZ

I give it a 5 the racing was good, but when they called the race it was a huge disappointment I think it was going be a damn good finish like the past two years. I wanted to see if Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Mark Martin could get back up front, not taking anything away from Matt Kensth but if the race ran the full distance there no way he was going to win that race.

If Sadler had held on for another half lap then I would have given it more, but Kenseth was a reasonable winner I suppose.

WHat annoyed me was the the biggie was Junior's fault and the commentators even said that when they first saw it, but then they suddenly seemed to think 'oh shit, we'll piss off 98% of the watching audience if we blame him' and start backtracking. Ugh.

I gave it a 7. The racing was amazing, but I lost all respect for Dale Jr. and the finish was pretty stupid. But there was a good winner and both Kyle Busch and Edwards finished down in the order, so a 7 it is.

Gave it a three. If the race had started just an hour earlier we would've finished, but they had to do pre-race crap like the Keith Urban concert.

I gave it an eight. Probably would have been even higher had the race managed to finish, but that was out of everyone's control. Fantastic action all the way throughout, and a very deserving winner.

I don't know to be honest. While I like Kenseth, the Daytona 500 going to one of the most senile car owners in the business (And one of the teams that's part of the Hendrick-Roush-Gibbs-Childress hegemony over Victory Lane) really left a bad taste in my mouth.

I was so disappointed over the finish that I gave it a four but it was better than that. If Allmendinger had won I would have exploded.
The threat of rain was awesome. I wish every race could have a real threat of rain, but that the rain would never hit the track. That would be awesome.

The four combined accounted to win 32 of 36 races, and they were the only four teams that made the Chase.

I'm surprised you didn't hear that analogy - It's all bloggers talking about parity in NASCAR can bitch about.
