Gave it a 7. Racing was good but not GREAT. Got a little wild at times which elevated the excitement. I think if the race had run it's full distance, it would have been at least a 9 for sure. I say that because, as of late, the final 50 laps of the 500 have been insane and this year it seemed it was going to end up the same way.

7/10

Honestly, I only tuned in the last 15 laps of the race, and totally missed the Junior-Vickers big one (both of them are at fault...Vickers for aggro blocking and Jr for causing the big mess). It would have been a 9 if NASCAR needs to keep their calls consistent. Leffler gets 5 laps for "aggressive driving" but Junior...an asskiss from FOX? Come on...I don't care if I bag my favorite driver for something like causing the Big One, but NASCAR needs to keep their calls consistent.

I don't know to be honest. While I like Kenseth, the Daytona 500 going to one of the most senile car owners in the business (And one of the teams that's part of the Hendrick-Roush-Gibbs-Childress hegemony over Victory Lane) really left a bad taste in my mouth.

RCR won three races last year you HURF

The four combined accounted to win 32 of 36 races, and they were the only four teams that made the Chase.

I'm surprised you didn't hear that analogy - It's all bloggers talking about parity in NASCAR can bitch about.

Well yeah, but RCR is nowhere near the level of Roush, JGR, or HMS

They're the most consistent out of the "superteams"

They are, but they have failed to win a championship since 1994. And they have failed to win a championship with other than Earnhardt Sr.

And the decision of Mike Helton from not going back at 11 PM. The heck it's late. It's the Daytona 500, not 385

I've reached the conclusion after this instance that NASCAR is merely headed by an abundance of very, very good trolls.

What other conclusion could you reach?

Besides, didn't you know? Mike Helton is an expert meteorologist.

To be honest, it did stop raining around 8:45 ish, BUT there was only about an hour after the rain stopped and it started raining again, for about 20 min. I was sitting in Ruby Tuesday across the street from turn 4. So either way, the race would have been called. It was a bit of a relief to see it rain again, because I know they wouldn't have got restarted until midnight. The haulers were already pulling out of the track around 8:30...

Was a pretty good race but got hurt by the rain. Nothing against the west coast but we need to have 12pm ET start times ago IMO!
