Bowman landed pretty heavily square on the rear wheels at the end though. Ouch.

True. I didn't see that at first. Saturday night we had a guy land his BB Mod like and broke his back.

Trackhouse Racing with an early candidate for best throwback paint scheme of the year. I'm surprised that this hasn't been done yet. It's a throwback to Ricky Rudd's 1988 Quaker State Buick.

That Mopar scheme was always great though, so fair enough.

Harvick, Hamlin, Bell, and Yeley ran 2010's throwbacks last year. There are more examples still; too many to count.

Ryan Blaney is doing a throwback that pays tribute to his dad. The colors fit well with a Menards paint scheme.

lol calm down. Petty competed with every manufacturer under the sun. Let him complete the set.

Toyota is arguably a safer bet as far as a manufacturer that continues to produce cars that are remotely NASCAR-like. Now that the Camaro is being killed (at least for a while) what will Chevy be racing?

a) Run the Corvette, though I'd hate to see the resulting abomination of a NASCAR-ified Vette.

b) Switch to Cadillac. Nowadays their sports car pedigree and F1 aspirations give it a pretty strong motorsports presence, and they're the only GM brand with ICE sedans still in their lineup (sporty ones at that).

well GM is turning Corvette into a sub-brand that could also might manufacture SUVs, so fuck traditions, anything goes

It appears that both Ross Chastain and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are both running 2001 Dale Jarrett UPS throwbacks at Darlington.

Somebody is finally doing it. We have a Herbie paint scheme for Darlington. Matt Mills is running the #53 car in the Xfinity Series Race.

Some more throwbacks:

#74 Dawson Cram, paying tribute to Bob Keselowski's #29 Mopar Chrysler that was run at the 1992 ARCA Season Finale in Atlanta that year. Bob's sons Brian and Brad helped with this design.

Image

#98 Riley Herbst with a Ken Block tribute.

Image

#6 Brad Keselowski with a retro Castrol throwback. I'm getting some John Force funny car vibes from this one.

Image

#2 Sheldon Creed with a throwback to Kevin Harvick's 2001 Xfinity Championship Car.

Image

#21 Austin Hill is doing a throwback to Harvick's 2006 Xfinity Championship car.

It looks like Kyle Busch, Chris Buescher, Michael McDowell and BJ McLeod are among the teams not running throwbacks.

Blaine Perkins is running a Kevin Harvick tribute at Darlington and they got the original sponsor to sign on to sponsor it.

Also, the Random Fantasy Game appears to be working, so it's not quite dead yet.
