Yeah, about a page back.

Since that stunt backfired in a big way, we all assumed that Mike Harmon decided to commit insurance fraud as plan B and make up a sob story about it...or at least that's what I think.

I saw a different story where Jennifer Jo Cobb had claimed Mike Harmon stole her hauler is that at all related?

Not sure. Wouldn't surprise me, however.

Are the Cup cars running the small spoiler and higher HP package at Dover this weekend or was that just for tracks shorter than a mile in length?

The 1 milers get the low downforce/750hp package too, yes.

Major changes are coming to California.

Nice to see a short track eventually being added to the schedule.

According to the article Gluck and Bianchi wrote on The Athletic: "Initial designs have the new short track at ACS using part of the existing frontstretch — banked at 11 degrees — then diving into a pair of high-banked turns similar to Bristol, which would cut through what is currently a large grassy area between the track and pit road. What is currently pit road would get reconfigured with similar banking as the frontstretch and become the new track’s backstretch, followed by two more Bristol-style turns through the ballfield and back onto the frontstretch."

I think this is a shame tbh. I've always liked Fontana. I know people generally want more short tracks but it shouldn't come at the expense of one of the more unique tracks on the schedule. And of course this means no chance of any more Indycar :(

Vegas or Texas I'd rather have this treatment.

Return Atlanta to its previous config.

Chicagoland would seem to have been the obvious candidate considering the leaks earlier in the year.

I like the track design but it is a shame to lose Fontana. Maybe someone will build an Ontario clone (hah).

That blueprint makes it look like quite the paperclip. I like the higher-banking but the turns look so sharp I have a hard time seeing there being much chance for the outside lane to be useful (unless they get weird with the banking progression).

Lol unique shmunique. It was a Michigan clone. At this point, I'm so utterly fed up of high-speed dirty-air no-passing glorified testing session that is *every* 1.5+ oval that I don't care which one they butcher to get a short-track in.

ACS has been a snoozefest for years outside of restarts. With IndyCar now too scared to run big ovals, it has run its course. The new track looks mint.

Kind of reminds you of Mesa Marin in a way (just by looking at the track's layout), because that track was kind of paper clip-shaped with high banked turns.

I remember hearing on the dale jr download that ACS is on prime real estate ( like chicagoland and myrtle beach) and was in danger of loosing the track all together. But NASCAR has a lot of sponsors in the area so they really fought to keep the location. all and all this is a good outcome not sure about the design like many have said i think it would be better with longer corners but im all for a unique track.

Yea, California and New York are two markets NASCAR has always strived for and ran its core product / audience into the ground at times to achieve it (swapping Wilkesboro and Labor Day race for Fontana and Loudon) so they surely did everything possible to keep a race there.

Jimmie to Indycar in 2021! :excited: However, smart move at his age to be learning Indycar? Not to mention the risks...

given his versatile background, I don't see JJ having any issues picking up on the IndyCar side. Wonder if Chip will get a driver to pair with JJ on the ovals, especially with several high profile drivers without a ride presently (Montoya, Helio, Kanaan, Bourdais etc.)

I assume the risks are why he's only doing road courses.
