They should not be allowed to do stand alone races like those at Iowa or the 2nd race at Chicago

They should all have to use the same size seat as Austin Dillon.

Kyle Busch shouldn't be allowed to race in nationwide and truck series next years after what he did to Ron Hornaday at Texas.

I just don't get it why cup drivers are racing in couple of race in nationwide and trucks series and take the victories away from the current nationwide/truck drivers. I know Mark Martins used to raced in nationwide (back then when it was Busch Grand National Series), but not anymore.

Why are NASCAR letting them race in those series? :?

One word. Money.

Drivers get an extra paycheck for racing, and the Cup talent puts more asses in the seats in the stands because of the "name" drivers racing in those other events.

David Ragan was a frustration and a disappointment for all of us because he was not able to realize the potential that he had, given what his skill is and what the expectations of the sponsor were, and what the performance that was being demonstrated in the car, and what the engineering package was.

I'm just as confused about him being in the #6 car today as I was when he was first hired.

Rumors are Drew Blickensderfer (#6 crew chief) will be going to the #31 of Jeff Burton.

As for Ragan.. I thought he was much better this season than then last few.. I thought they should've dropped him and kept McMurray, when that whole deal went down.

And Lambert supposedly to Sadler's NW team. I'd have kept him with Burton and sent Blickensderfer to Sadler instead.

I definitely agree with you on that one. Jamie Mac is definitely underrated as a driver, IMO. I've never seen any single driver pull out of ridiculous slides more than he has.

Steve Addington quits as Kurt Busch's crew chief

CHARLOTTE (AP) – Penske Racing says Kurt Busch's crew chief has left the organization.

By Sean Dougherty, USA TODAY

Steve Addington has been with Busch the last two seasons. He is the second crew chief in three years to split with the 2004 NASCAR champion.

Penske Racing President Tim Cindric confirmed Addington was leaving Tuesday and wished the crew chief well in the future.

Although the split had been rumored for months, Addington had repeatedly declined to discuss his future with Busch or address speculation he planned to go to work for three-time champion Tony Stewart in 2012.

News he was leaving came the same day a video shot by a fan emerged on YouTube of Busch being verbally abusive to ESPN in-race reporter Jerry Punch during Sunday's season-finale race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

NASCAR called Busch's language in the video "disappointing."

I wonder how much Kurt Busch being a douche-nozzle influenced his decision.

Uh huh... interesting. Amazing how much a guy with a cell phone and a YouTube account can accomplish in this day and age.

Go on Roger.

Give the drive to Hornish.

You know it makes sense.

Andy done with TRG in general,
Lally joins Magnus Racing for 2012

November 22, 2011

Andy Lally's time with The Racer's Group is at an end, as the longtime driver for that squad shifts to Magnus Racing for the 2012 sports car series season.

Lally will run with Magnus team owner John Potter in the team's No. 44 Porsche GT3 Cup, replacing Craig Stanton for the full season.

Magnus, a team whose unique sense of humor is displayed in its news releases, has competed in both the Grand-Am Rolex Series and American Le Mans Series the last two seasons. It's been a full-season Rolex participant while running sporadic ALMS events.

For Lally, the opportunity is a fresh one after his sojourn into NASCAR with TRG had a rather forgettable ending. The team fell outside the top 35 in owners' points during the waning stages of the Sprint Cup Series season and Mike Bliss was drafted in to the team's No. 71 entry for the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

While Bliss qualified after Lally had failed to qualify for the previous race at Phoenix, Lally made sure to state during the process that he was not fired, just that there had been a difference of opinion regarding the team's future direction. TRG team officials described the situation as “fluid.”

Lally made his NASCAR debut in 2009 and won Rookie of the Year honors for 2011, largely because he was the only full-season entrant. In 30 starts this season, Lally had a best finish of 19th at Talladega, with a career best of 18th at Watkins Glen in 2010.

“It is official, for 2012 I will be racing in the Rolex Series for Magnus Racing with John Potter in the No. 44 Porsche,” Lally said in a tweet.

“I will still be attempting to do any NASCAR races that I can, especially the road courses"

I'm reminded of Scott Pruett's foray into NASCAR after reading that.

At least Lally was a somewhat respectable rookie candidate (*cough* Kevin Conway *cough*). That drift he had at Charlotte in qualifying was mint!
