Mike Harmon warns people against being insured by Geico because apparently, he has never heard of renter's insurance they screwed him over in only covering the vehicle towing the equipment and race cars and not said equipment and race cars.

...fucking idiot...

I will say the fall of one very talented driver in Larson and the rise of an arguably less talented driver in Bubba Wallace shows how much being a marketable personality means in NASCAR, now more than ever.

Yeah, he ain't got bad intentions, was more like naive. I'm a only son and sometimes I do say things than only way after, thinking about it, could have been offensive for someone for a particular thing that has happened to him. It's a very bad feeling. A mistake. And we both deserve a second chance.

I'm honestly starting to believe that Larson will be in the 88 next year. If anyone can handle the moral/financial sting of hiring him and potentially having to run him out of his own pockets, it would probably be Rick Hendrick.

Kyle Larson will drive #5 Hendrick Motorsports in a multi-year deal starting next season.

The #88 was a "fake" Hendrick number anyway, only introduced when Dale Jr came over from DEI and couldn't use #8 anymore.

#5 is Hendrick's original number when they started with Geoff Bodine as the driver. It still has most starts for Hendrick in history IIRC.

Prior to #24 Jeff Gordon era Hendrick used #5 & #25 the most. When Dale Jr came over #88 basically replaced #25 full-time.

I'm more surprised Bowman will take over #48 rather than stick to #88.

it's kinda weird how larson went from revealing himself as a racist to getting a hendrick ride for next season, which is better than what he had at CGR. not sure if he was slated to get the 5 in either scenario but it worked out for him in a twisted way

He got to go race for fun for a year and comes back to arguably better equipment than he was fired from... Makes sense.

Look, I hate this system too, and I'm not even a Chase Elliott fan...but how can simply not winning a particular race be considered a "choke" regardless of the team/driver? That's one of the countless problems with the playoffs: they create these bizarre notions and narratives that only make sense in this narrow, contrived context.

The words you're looking for are "GAME 7 MOMENTS"

The way the current format is, it kind of undermines the importance of the first half of the season. Either lock in the regular season champ, or go back to the old points system and just give the winner 200 points and second place 170 and so on, but thats just my opinion

I actually like the current points system itself. They could just tack on a few extra points to increase the delta between a win and a second place finish, then every position is worth a single point less from 2nd to 40th. Shit, I don't even mind stage points, I just hate that they end each stage with a caution.

Make those changes and ditch the playoffs and you actually have a strong championship system in my opinion that rewards winning (via the extra points), consistency (via not having playoffs derail a good season), and competition (via the stage points that encourages teams and drivers for trying to spend as much time as possible in the top 10 throughout each race).

All of that right there are the main reasons why I don't take this obviously fubar playoffs seriously. There's just no merit to it. Combine all of that with a godawful aero regulations that makes you stuck in a pack for 10-15 laps and that's about it and...you get what just played out in the past couple of weeks.

I'm just in it for the memes and low-effort shitposting because that's what NASCAR has become in the past half-decade.

You know NASCAR is sitting in Charlotte patting themselves on the back that the dominant driver of the year wasn't able to dominate the chase too, and that's exactly why the chase is a good thing :whistling:

NASCAR people don't think like the rest of us.

Nascar truck driver Josh Reaume has been suspended indefinitely for a post on twitter. One article said he posted something with a swastika in it, but I can't find a screen shot of the post to confirm that part of it.

He made a toaster strudel and made a swastika out of the cream icing packet

Literal 14 year old humor
