Who would've thought that Roger Penske would've had enough of a Busch brother before Joe Gibbs?

Better yet, a start-and-park ride.

Seeing that his options for next year are very limited as a result of being released late in the year with pretty much no open full-time rides, that won't be much of a surprise.

As we speak, Roger Penske is looking for a time machine to go back one year ago to un-release Justin Allgaier.

I hear David Ragan, Brian Vickers, and David Reutimann are looking for Cup rides...or maybe Roger brings Sam Hornish, Jr. back to the Cup series.

They have to get someone whos a serious chance of making the Chase and not just running midfield spots

I hope they pick up Reutimann. He's the anti-Busch, quiet, positive and doesn't play the blame game much. And I bet in the right car he'd have no trouble making the Chase.

This is great news, and I hope for Reutimann as well. I'd really enjoy seeing what he could do with the ride.

Rumor is David Ragen to the 22 according to Jim Utter on twitter.

I'd be real worried about my ride if I was Martin Truex and Joey Logano. I could see Michael Waltrip getting into Napa's ear that Kurt Busch would get them a championship. Then MWR could shuffle around owner points to get Bowyer locked in for the first 5 races. It seems Joe Gibbs doesn't give a fuck who drives his cars long as they win races. Wonder if Ganassi would part ways with McMurray for Busch?

Carzy stuff. Major props to Roger Penske and Shell/Pennzoil.

I've heard that if Logano doesn't make the Chase next year he's gone

D-Root would be a great choice since he showed that he can drive. Put him in a decent ride (read: anything but MWR) and he'll be a threat week-in and week-out.

Logically speaking, Sam Hornish, Jr. would also be a good choice.

Not sure about David Ragan and Brian Vickers, tho...Ragan's under contract with Ford unless Roger manages to break it, and Vickers can be erratic at times.

I doubt that Ragan is under contract with Ford, even though he has his own Ford dealership in his native Georgia.

Take Mark Martin, for instance. Drove Fords for so many years at Roush, has his own Ford dealership in his hometown, and he hasn't raced a Ford in the Cup series since he left Roush in 2006.

Bet Ragan goes to Penske and wins Daytona, Brickyard and Charlotte.

And somewhere out there, Jack Roush is slitting wrists in his office if that happens.

I am kind of glad that Kurt Busch got fired tonight. Roger does not need that kind of press and his company does not need a driver of his tallents.

Kurt you and your brother need to get some mental help before you come back to Nascar.

It's amazing how one person with a digital camera and a YouTube account, in the right place at the right time, can do so much to get one person fired.

There's the other shit Kurt's done, yes, but that video of his verbal assault on Punch was definitely the last straw for Penske and the sponsors.

Yeah, my sentiments exactly, Cartman. That guy was like "Oh man, sweet, I've got pit passes, and I'm at the last race of the year! And it's going to be one for the ages!! Oh cool, there's Kurt and Jerry Punch!" *whips out cell phone, thus ending Kurt's hopes for 2012*

As much as I can't stand the Busch brothers, and defending them is the most futile gesture ever, the sport needs them. Not necessarily because it needs bad guys, but because it needs guys with actual talent. We can't have the field half-full of Kevin Conways out there... that would be some scary stuff!

Also, I really do hope Penske goes with Reutimann instead of Ragan, though I suppose it would be interesting to see what Ragan can do in a different ride. I would have liked to see Brian Vickers in the 22, honestly, but I think he's got plans elsewhere, and it's not like he can drop them all at the drop of a hat.

The sport doesn't need the disrespectful little shits anymore than I need a hole in the head.

Kurt Busch got himself fired, and he should do the decent thing and tell his legion of nutjob fans to calm the hell down and leave the poor kid that filmed it alone, posting his address and threatening him is going way to far all things considered, all he did was put the nail in Kurt's coffin, if you'd listened to him on the radio this year then you'd know that, it's not like this was a one off event, it happens nearly every week and neither the Busch brothers deserve to be where they are.

It just happens that on that weekend, ESPN/Nascar/Fox didn't sweep the meltdown under the carpet and the public got to see the real character of Kurt.
