I doubt we see short fields. I mean, its always a possibility but I bet we get at least 43 teams at all the races. We will get people like Derrike Cope or maybe even Morgan McClure (don't know if they sold all the way out or not there website still works so someone is paying that bill) dusting the mothballs off the cars to start and park. Pretty sure some random Nationwide teams have a cup cars too.

Wouldn't shock me to see James Finch run Mike Bliss (or anyone) in a 2nd car to help fund the 51 for Kurt Busch
Nemecheck could always run Kevin Conway the full year start and park.
FRM still have Yeley and the #55 with partial sponsorship.
TBR is going to 2 cars for most races.
Inception Motorsports is supposedly full time this year.
#95 is 15 races with Scott Speed.
Robby Gordon's team will run all the races if I had to bet on it. He says every year that he doesn't know what he is doing, yet he shows up with someone in the car. Plus, they will run a second car if they think they can qualify for big money races.
Brian Keselowski will attempt the 500 and go from there. That is confirmed on his facebook. Hope your in the same qualifier as your brother.
Hell, if they have the cars, maybe Fas Lane Racing will run two cars sometimes? You really don't hear much about them. They seem to always have some kind of sponsorship so who knows.
You never know with Phil Parsons either.
Whitney Motorsports is running Fords this year I believe. No drivers announced yet that I know of.
Hell someone could still buy the Red Bull equipment and race. The MWR deal has fell through according to various websites.

A lot of assumptions on my part. It's what makes the internet fun.

Well I was right about some things. Way off on others.
Looks like Front Roe Joe gave up on the Conway experiment since Awesome Bill is in the 97 at Daytona.
Yeley has parted ways with FRM. Tony Raines is in a 3rd car for Daytona.
TBR did go to 2 cars with a "partnership" with Stewart
Inception Motorsports (needs a better name) is going full time
Robby Gordon will be at Daytona. Who knows after that.
Brian Keselowski couldn't secure funding for the 500. That really sucks, was hoping for some sort of repeat of last year.
Phil Parson and Whitney Motorsports Merged into 1 car, maybe 2 down the road.
Someone bought the Red Bull Equipment with Burger King as a sponsor.
Plus we had Jay Robinson add a team.
Timmy Hill will run the #37 eventually
Robert Richardson is racing for his dad. (Is that for Rookie of the Year too?)

So will it be Timmy Hill vs. Robert Richardson for Rookie of the Year?

Could be an EPIC battle!!!!

Robby Gordon To Run Daytona 500; Race Team "For Sale"

After a quiet offseason on the NASCAR front, Robby Gordon was at Daytona Media Day and ready for the daunting Speedweeks task ahead: qualifying for this year's Daytona 500 through speed or next Thursday's Gatorade Duel 150s. But what will happen after that for the driver/owner, who start-and-parked his self-owned No. 7 Dodge in several races last season?

According to an interview with Mike Mulhern, Gordon will do as much racing as he can "without going broke." But as the veteran struggles to scrounge up sponsorship, he's admitting to several possible options on the table, including selling his ownership stake to someone else while focusing on increasing distribution of his SPEED Energy Drink.

"I've got a 100,000-square foot building in Charlotte…and planes I can't even afford to use today, though I'm still making payments on them and still paying insurance on them," he said. "I'm stuck. Plain and simple. The race team's for sale. It's been for sale."

In a wide-ranging answer, Gordon claimed to be looking for private investors to help fund the car in the long-term, keeping him safely in the driver's seat. Without that funding, it looks like the single-car effort will only be able to run the full distance in a handful of events, currently starting the year outside the "locked in" top-35 spots in owner points. It was a tough year for the organization, as Gordon himself went without a top-10 finish in Cup for the first year since 1999. But the owner/driver still believes in putting up his organization against the sport's multi-car giants.

"This sport is great," he said. "I love this sport. I love NASCAR... if we could run the car, we're a top-25 team easily. But we can't afford to run the car."

Shootout eligibility returns to its roots for 2013
Pole winners from 2012 and past event winners will make the fiield next year

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR released Sunday the eligibility requirements for the 2013 Shootout at Daytona, an announcement that signals a return to the fan-favorite preseason event's roots.

Next season's field will consist of 2012 Coors Light Pole winners and past Shootout winners who have attempted to qualify for at least one race during the 2012 season.

Eligibility rules for next season's annual non-points race mirror those from 1979-2008, and puts greater emphasis on each weekend's Sprint Cup Series qualifying session.

"Fans have expressed their desire to see this event return to its original eligibility rules," said Steve O'Donnell, NASCAR senior vice president of racing operations. "We listened and decided it would be best to return to the eligibility rules of years past, adding further meaning to pole qualifying for each Sprint Cup race."

This announcement comes prior to 2012's first qualifying session, adding intrigue to an already important event. Today's fastest qualifier, in addition to winning the pole for next Sunday's 54th annual Daytona 500, will also earn a spot in next year's Shootout. Two Daytona 500 starting positions will be locked in after today's qualifying session. The fastest two cars in qualifying will sit on the front row for The Great American Race.

Saturday night, Kyle Busch won his first Shootout at Daytona, locking up a spot in next year's field. Busch passed defending series champion Tony Stewart in the tri-oval, edging the three-time titlist by a margin of victory of .013 seconds -- the closest in Shootout history.

Last season, 18 different drivers won a pole.

Awesome.

I presume that the two breweries have come to an agreement? AFAIR, that was why the eligibility rules were changed in the first place.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

An addendum on Jayski just noted it will just be called "The Shootout", so maybe Budweiser wont be title sponsor anymore

Either that or like Drew said, no sponsor or different sponsor next year. Hopefully Coors step up and make it the Coors Shootout.
