Seems like Fox have finally found their Jaff replacement in Kevin Harvick, who will retire from fulltime driving after this season https://www.motorsport.com/nascar-cup/n ... /10419691/

Also, Petty GMS will become Legacy Motor Club and Jimmie will run #84

What will really make it silly is if a Rick Ware field filler makes the show because of a charter protection but a competitive car misses out

Well, I gotta say less sideforce sounds great to me. Just hope the situation Clements described isn't truly indicative of what traffic might look like, because for the last few years the Xfinity series is the only NASCAR product that I would consider consistently good.

They didn't like the 2nd tier showing up the main show, I guess.... :o

Some 2023 rules changes were announced today:

- The Chastain wall ride has been banned for all tracks, and will result in a time penalty if anyone tries it.

- Losing a wheel on track will be a 2-lap penalty and a 2-race suspension for the appropriate crew members. If the tire comes off on pit road and is addressed there, just an in-race penalty will be applied (no suspension).

- Damage vehicle clock will be 7 minutes.

- Stage breaks will not happen at any Cup series road course events (along with any Xfinity & Truck companion events on RCs).

It was the grown up decision to make. Too much risk and potential credibility damage to leave that on the table as a viable option for drivers. Chastain's kamikaze move for glory was worthy of a one-and-done maneuver.

Yeah I'm not sure how you'd be surprised or upset over that change unless you enjoy seeing NASCAR fail (which is a legit and worthy reason)

Now if they would remove the bullshit cautions on the ovals too

Ever since they added that crap, it's been way harder to care (as a fan) in regards to how I did when I was younger (diehard levels to the point of going to Charlotte just to watch open testing for the hell of it)

You just knew at the next Martinsville race everyone would have tried it. That many trying it and it really would end up in a clusterfuck of stupidity.
