Just like Wilkesboro last year, NASCAR Pro Invitational will show off the new Gen7 cars before its real-world debut next season

visuals are good

horsepower cut is bad

in iRacing:
it's a neutered piece of shit on most big ovals; road courses it's like a V8 Supercar but different, likes to snap out of nowhere at random. Harder to catch slides because of the smaller sidewalls on the tires.

They look good, I hope they produce good racing. I like the look of the Mustang.

At least it's a race car.

I would much rather they'd have gotten rid of these different power level packages and just let them run however much they can squeeze out of those 358's.

If they reduced the aero downforce and increased the mechanical grip then big HP should cook those tires pretty quickly. You'd only have really crazy fast laps for the first 5-10 laps of a run before tire wear showed it's hand and the drivers had to drive.

670 for the bulk of the short tracks and road courses; 550 for the bulk of the big tracks

came across this from a tweet by Bozi, some NextGen aero bit info in this + other interesting information (such as NASCAR overloading Chrysler's wind tunnel)

*bolded for emphasis*

That's because they actually have the wrong downforce trim, not the tires. Supercars are running a similar rim and I didn't find that problem...then again, I usually run mid-pack, so what do I know...

Marcos Lemonis wants to help bring back North Wilkesboro, it seems.

considering this region has lost Concord & Myrtle Beach in the past 2 years, gaining North Wilkesboro as a special event style short track would be great.

Doubtful it ever happens, but would be nice.

(no way in hell it could be used for weekly shows, any big half mile (or) high speed track just doesn't work here for weekly racing)

Remind me again what exactly SMI has to gain from owning a track they've more or less let rot for the past 25 years.

If it's anything like the oval racing scene in the UK, it's better to own a track and run it down (maybe even let it run minor events that draw no spectators of note but keep the big crowd draws away from it) than sell it and have someone else buy it, make a success of it and potentially become a rival to you in the long term
