I was thinking the other day about the potential driver lineup across all 3 series and I think the Sprint Cup Series might have more full-time teams next year than in 2013. There is one team dropping back to a part-time schedule (the #56 car and depending on what you consider James Finch's team). There are two teams adding cars, Stewart-Haas and Swan Racing.

I am worried about the Truck Series next year, especially the speedway races after Daytona. RCR is gone, at least as a full-time team. Sharp-Gallaher is gone, seemingly. Kyle Busch is dropping a team and a number of other teams haven't announced driver lineups or plans like Red Horse Racing, Turner-Scott Motorsports and the #60 team.

Meanwhile in Trucks, Eddie Sharp's new business partner has apparently fucked him over:

Sharp Gallaher Racing laid off virtually all of its employees yesterday in the aftermath of an apparent dispute between partners Eddie Sharp, Jr. and Bill Gallaher. SGR employees were informed yesterday that the team is shutting down, and all but one employee was reportedly laid off. Multiple sources say the shutdown occurred after Gallaher informed Sharp that his services would no longer be required. Sources close to the situation say the team may subsequently be reopened under Gallaher's sole ownership. Sharp was unavailable for comment today, attempts to contact Gallaher were unsuccessful.(Godfather Motorsports)(12-17-2013)

Sharp used 2 million of Gallaher's investment to pay off personal debt. So he somewhat had it coming.

It sucks because I was supposed to run one of their late models end of 2014.

I'll take Dover, I came close to almost winning an nr03 league race there once.

Richie Wauters' Truck Series Team rises again. This time with another guy who crashes a lot. This is from Jayski.com

Quote:
UPDATE: Wauters Motorsports announced today that John Wes Townley will drive the #5 Zaxby's Toyota Tundra in the 2014 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. "We are excited to have John Wes and Zaxby's join us in 2014," team owner Richie Wauters said. "He has made significant gains in his NASCAR career and we feel this is the right fit for him this season. We expect to have John Wes in the top-five in points and, hopefully, bring home some wins for Zaxby's. And we are thrilled to be back fielding Toyotas with Joe Gibbs Racing Engines."(Wauters Motorsports)(12-19-2013)

It just wouldn't be NASCAR without the modern-day equivalent of Clyde Torkle's Chicken Pit Special gracing the track.

At least on the trucks, the only changes are body-work related. The chassis are still the same. Hopefully that's enough to keep their racing fun.

I wonder if she went home afterwards in the suit and had her way with Stenhouse.

^^^ Saw that the other day. I guess Jayski just takes the headline of the story without proofreading first.

And seeing as how this is the "Random" discussion page, hot damn would I have ever liked to see Mike Wallace drive for Penske just a little while longer. I've been watching late 2001 races, and there's no doubt in my mind that a little more time would have netted him a win or two.

That reminded me of the July Daytona BGN race in '04. Being a big DEI supporter at the time, it reminded of how much I wanted Mikey and Dale Jr to punch Jason Leffler after what he pulled on the last lap, but seeing Mike Wallace win it totally made up for it.
