MJ's interview with Charlotte Observer noted a couple things - that A: they will likely getting support from Gibbs, and that B: he's leaving the final choice of car number up to Bubba but is interested in having it run as the #23

Kentucky is horrible. No loss to anyone. That repave was a waste of time and money.

Here's what the 2021 Cup Schedule is likely going to look like and it's much different than recent years.

These are good moves from NASCAR.

- NASCAR needs to race in the Nashville area. Period. Everything I've seen has pointed to the area booming.
- Atlanta got its second date back and I am so happy to see it.
- LOL at Texas losing a date to COTA.
- The IMS Road Course might be the best way to revitalize the Brickyard 400. I'm going to keep a open mind.
- Kinda torn on the Bristol dirt race. I want it to succeed but I also want to see NASCAR test the cars out on dirt first. I don't know how the large, lumbering stock cars will do on a dirt oval compared to dirt late models.

I think honestly Atlanta only getting a second date is to get the casino built there

Kyle Larson posted an essay on his website about what has happened in the months after saying the "n-word" during an iRacing event in April. He talks a lot about the lessons he's learned and the changes he's made to better himself. The essay can be found here. It's worth reading.

I really hope he is given another opportunity in some form of major motorsports. He doesn't seem like a bad guy or a douchebag outside of that one major mistake he made, and I don't think his entire career deserves to be Mayfielded because of it.

I will say the fall of one very talented driver in Larson and the rise of an arguably less talented driver in Bubba Wallace shows how much being a marketable personality means in NASCAR, now more than ever.

True, he may be a fucking idiot, but he seemed very genuine in that blog entry. He'll be back for sure.

Yep, I'm looking forward to seeing him back in a Stewart Haas car as rumoured.

i would hold the judgements on bubba's talent until we see him in better equipment. you may end up being correct, but he's done a solid job of elevating a middling team and car

Very genuine piece by Kyle in that essay. I do think Kyle will get a second chance, personally wouldn't mind seeing him run the full Outlaw tour while Donny is in his prime though (especially if they can get that Ford motor fully up to snuff, the "engine wars" gonna be interesting between the already proven engine builders and the factory backed programs of Ford & Toyota in a few years. Don't think there's been this level of factory interest since Mopar was involved in the 90's / early 00's). There's been alot of rumors about Larson to the 48 / 88 car lately, but my gut feeling is that he winds back up in a Toyota team whenever he returns to stock cars.

I think Bubba is a pretty good talent behind the wheel. I'm very interested to see how he does in the "5th Gibbs" car next year.
