Do we really need a split screen to watch Danica talk to an old person?

Only one angle but it looked like Montoya misjudged getting in line behind Jr and just hooked him.

Gotta love how NASCAR mandated this.

Bet they don't pay for the damage either.

I honestly think it's one of those adjustment things... they've been so accustomed to the tandem thing (which, really, if you're a driver, you would prefer to the crazy closing speeds of this particular pack racing) that this sort of incident is pretty much expected.

It just sucks for Burton - first blowing a tire yesterday, then getting the shaft again today. :(

Near the end of the coverage, Larry Mac mentioned that the 21 team is currently not planning to enter the Bud Shootout even though Bayne is eligible. He said they haven't "sold" that race (no sponsorship deal in place) and plan on concentrating on the 500 for Speedweeks.

David Ragan to Front Row Motorsports. Had a feeling he was going there after RPM took Aric Almirola.

Quote:
David Ragan, who spent the past five seasons driving for Roush Fenway Racing, will drive for Front Row Motorsports in the Sprint Cup series in 2012. An official announcement is scheduled for early next week, sources said. It remains unclear which team Ragan will drive for at Front Row, which fielded Ford teams last season for #34-David Gilliland and #38-Travis Kvapil [and a limited schedule with the #55].

Team cap would prevent Earnhardt, Jr. from operating Cup team: Whenever there was talk about JR Motorsports possibly moving to Sprint Cup, team officials noted that not only would Rick Hendrick have to divest his interest in the team because of NASCAR's four-team cap, but possibly so would Dale Earnhardt Jr. NASCAR President Mike Helton confirmed that Friday at Daytona International Speedway, saying that if a driver owns a team but drives for another organization, then the total number of cars for both organizations counts toward the four-team cap. With Hendrick Motorsports already having four cars, Earnhardt Jr. cannot own a non-Hendrick Cup car. JR Motorsports is owned by Earnhardt Jr., Hendrick, Kelley Earnhardt and Tony Eury Jr. Earnhardt Jr. signed a contract extension with Hendrick last year. "It comes down to any attachments to more than four cars. & Dale Jr. with JR Motorsports, he drives for a four-car team, so a driver from a four-car organization can't fill a car," Helton said. "That would be considered a fifth car. Helton addressed the issue after Michael Waltrip expressed interest in competing in the Daytona 500 but possibly with another organization. Waltrip said earlier this week that if he wanted to drive for another organization, he would have to do it with a single-car team because he already owns three Cup cars.(Scene Daily)(1-14-2012)

Couldn't they just say that his sister owns the team? Why should it matter if Dale wanted to start up his own team and still drive for Hendrick? Its more cars for NASCAR's shitty races. I don't understand this at all. :? :? :?

NASCAR needs to revise that stupid rule. This isn't 2005 anymore. They need as many teams as they can get. If Hendrick or anyone else can fund 5 or 6 teams then they should let them.

The first NASCAR race I remember watching.
[youtubeidiot]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_3vZmBYd-4[/youtubeidiot]

I love how they come on the air and go straight the field intros. Non of that hour pre race garbage. I love the driver interviews. They feel so real back then. God I miss those days.

Check out part 4 for the start of the race and the big wreck involving Greg Sacks. Notice on the close up how far up his seat is bent forward. Lucky he even survived that wreck.

Just make sure to get rid of the top-35 rule before they do.

According to SPEED Carl Edwards will not run any Nationwide races this season. :flag: :flag: :flag:

Although that means Brad K will win every race.

They've been there since 1982. Good luck.
