Do you know if that is “all three series live” or just “coverage of all three series”?

I imagine the deal is exactly the same as before because NASCAR is notoriously lazy when it comes to European TV Deals
and just likes to rubber stamp the same goddamn deal every year for 20 years or more

Actually what I read was "All 4 series live" because it counted the Whelan Euro series too, but I very much doubt they'll have room for that live.

when Viaplay launched over there last fall, they showed the final Xfinity Series race of 2022 live on their app

Thanks, isn't Viaplay a streaming service? So "room" won't really be an issue for them. Might be worth it for £12 a month if every race is live.

Streaming or TV, you can get the channels on Sky or Virgin. Apparently if you get them through Sky you get access to the streaming, but not through Virgin... I've got them on Virgin so I'm hoping they're not going to make some of the races streaming only

2024 Fox hire just confirmed by Kevin in a pre-Clash interview.

Doesn't look like the Xfinity race is going to happen today at Fontana because of rain.

41:40 on Denny's podcast today

"fans & drivers need to stop asking for more power because NASCAR is not gonna listen, and is looking at further horsepower decreases (regarding solely the internal combustion engine component) in hopes of getting more engine mileage & thus cost cutting from it"

"looking at grooved tires to decrease grip"

Wrong thread, should be the "Fuck you NASCAR" thread

Something we can agree on, with much enthusiasm.

Well... Look on the brightside... Since the new car is such a pile of shit with the rearward impact, adding more power, which in turn would lead to faster lap times and harder crashes, would be a bad thing.

So, instead of fixing the car to actually crumble and not transfer the load to the driver, NASCAR has decided to slow the cars down. The change is of course to generate more "show" and "save money" and not on safety grounds, but hey, why sell only one dumb idea when you can package it at a discount and sell multiple.

Grooved tires... Fuck it, just give them DOT rubber. Goodyear builds Z rated tires. Slap those on there. Has the added benefit of being able to race in the rain without a tire change.

I loved NASCAR so much 20-25 years ago... Now I don't even recognize it. NASCAR is a tremendous example of leadership not knowing how to operate the business they inherited. All the more amazing since right across the aisle, IMSA is showing them how it's to be done. Not that IMSA doesn't have it's own issues, but they're on the cusp of enjoying a second golden age of big time road racing and giving the fans pretty much what they want. Multiple factory prototypes, multiple factory GT3's, all duking it out on the grandest stages.

This is the Split in reverse, just without the actual Split. Indycars fall was met with NASCAR's rise... Now it's NASCAR on the fall. Indycar, your time is now to strike, so you too stop making stupid decisions. You have an opportunity here to claw back plenty of market share if you just go back to what always worked.

One good news, a low downforce package for short-tracks and road-courses (Minus Bristol)
