I still think Kurt will end up in Tommy Baldwins Car with Golden Corral sponsorship.

I'll be pissed if it happens but whatever, thats NASCAR.

I am Glad AJ has a premium ride now. In retrospect, it was probably the best thing for his NASCAR career to be released from Red Bull back in 08. I can now be a fan of Penske's NASCAR program. Two drivers I actually can cheer for and products that I personally like.

Penske now has possibly the most widely likeable team in the series. Would really like to see AJ get his first win this year.

When's the last time you've seen a crash on the narrow part of Indy's front stretch?

I can think of several accidents on the Long Pond straight but not a single one at Indy.

What difference does that make? :?

I see AJ winning 2 races. Good for him. As far as Kurt, I see NHRA which would be good for him but a loss for NASCAR.

AJ to Penske: literately the second best move for Roger. The best would have been D-Root to the 22, but I'll take it.

Could Kurt Busch run Nationwide for Kyle? Word is Busch declined RPM's offer to be considered for the # 43 ride ending speculation the controversial driver would bounce back from his Penske departure with at least a 1A-type team ride. Busch has remained publicly quiet on what exactly he does have up his sleeve for next year and behind. He went on a very aggressive media blitz immediately after he and Penske parted ways and assured everyone there was interest on many fronts for his talents. There is speculation he is indeed following through on his thought of walking away from NASCAR for at least a year and running an NHRA Pro Stock car for the 2012 season, an off-shoot of his enjoyable time at last year's Gatornationals. But with little brother Kyle's Nationwide Series ride still open, many believe the Busch boys will indeed team up for next season in a combined NWS-truck series program out of the KBM stable.(Motor Racing Network)(12-22-201

As Kenny Wallace said on twitter, we're going to learn a lot about James Finch's team next year. They'll have a proven driver, as crazy as he can be at times.

KuBu driving for James Finch now? Damn...and that was after David Ragan signed a contract for them with an out that allowed him to seek a better ride (which included the Penske ride now occupied by Allmendinger).

Only other good ride out there I can think of now is the 43. Whoever gets that car will make a nice teammate for Marcos Ambrose.

Interested to see how well Kurt can drive that 51. My guess its for one year. What seats open after 2012?

$100 says Busch won't see out the season with Finch. Finch is very trigger happy when it comes to firing drivers (Bliss, Benson, Keller, Buescher to name a few), and you know he won't put up with Kurt's crap.

Looks like Kurt might choose to run for points in Nationwide.

Quote:
Kurt Busch will be doing plenty of racing in the 2012 NASCAR season. On Friday, Phoenix Racing announced it had hired the 2004 Sprint Cup Series champion to drive for its No. 51 Chevrolet team next season. The No. 51 entered every Cup race in 2011 with several different drivers. The news release announcing Busch’s move said he would drive a “full schedule” with the team. Busch is also expected to join forces with his younger brother, Kyle, and drive for Kyle’s Nationwide series team in 2012, the Observer and ThatsRacin.com have learned. One option being considered is for Kurt Busch to run the full Nationwide schedule and compete for the series championship, multiple sources said. Under NASCAR’s current system, Busch will only be able to earn driver points in only one series. It remains unclear what effect Friday’s Cup announcement will have on the Nationwide plans. A spokesman for Kyle Busch Motorsports said Friday the team was still finalizing its driver lineup and would not have any official announcements until after Jan. 1. Kurt Busch parted ways with Penske Racing earlier this month, ending his six-year tenure with the organization. He has won 24 Cup races and the 2004 series championship in his career. Busch’s first race with Finch will be the Feb. 18 Budweiser Shootout, which he won last season. “It’s going to be old-school racing, where we show up, race hard and go for the win,” Kurt said of his new Cup ride with Phoenix. “And if we don’t win, we’ll go back to the shop, work hard and do it all over again next week. “That’s the way we all started racing, and it’s great to get back to that.” James Finch, owner of Phoenix Racing, celebrated his 20th year as a team owner in 2011. His Spartanburg, S.C.-based team has won 13 NASCAR races, the most prominent being the April 2009 Cup race at Talladega, Ala., with then-driver Brad Keselowski. “All we want to do is win,” Finch said. “Winning is why I’ve been in racing for as long as I have, but NASCAR is a very competitive sport, and winning – especially at the Sprint Cup level – is hard. “But now with Kurt Busch as our driver, we have a shot to win every week.”
