what the heck happened to the short lived "let's go back to a solid color scheme" phase??? Solid color schemes destroy all.

When did that ever happen?

a few years back. I likee the 20 in a solid scheme more than any of these garbage schemes it has now. Same thing with the 2. Kahne's is the only one, off the top of my head, that I believe is a solid color this year.

Regan Smith's matte-black Chevy and Bill Elliott's red Ford are also solid color cars this year.

Surely these can count as solid colour schemes? Strictly speaking they aren't because of the trim lines, but they are close enough (and in the case of the 07, awesome enough) to be counted.

I miss the days when they painted the cars with house paint and used duct tape to make the numbers.

I liked Busch's car before they added the lighter blue. How it was before '08 was perfect. I consider the trim lining on the 2 and 39 to be too much to qualify as a "solid color". All the rest I'd say yes.

It doesn't necessarily need to have a solid color to be a nice scheme. Look at the 66... it's 100% pure tast.

I don't know. I agree that not all cars should have flames (because seriously, when does shit like Stanley Tools or NAPA ever catch fire?), but it's not like the 2 or 39 are completely ruined. I'll take them or Tony Stewart's rides over the 71 or the pukey yellow of the 42 any day.

Yellow usually manages to take a dump over any paint scheme using it vigorously, anyway.

I don't think the 2 & 39 are ruined either. I just think they'd look better if they were more solid.

The 42 looks like something that shoots outta yer nose when you pinch off one nostril and blow really hard out the other. You can recreate all of Juan's crashes in your own home by trying the above in your living room whenever he hits the wall!

Something isn't right about that number font on the 39.

I know its a bit late but here are my predictions for 2009....

-Joey Logano will finish in the top 20 in points
-Carl Edwards will win
-ESPN/ABC coverage will still suck
-Jeff Gordon Wins a Race
-Carl Edwards wins the championship
-AJ Allmendinger will make most (if not all) races this year, but with a different sponsor each week
-Kyle Busch decides to go to Formula 1 (nevermind, us NASCAR fans couldnt get that lucky)
-Mark Martin Finishes 2nd in the points yet again
-Dale Jr wins 2 races this year, improving from 1 last year

Kyle Busch is more talented than Carl Edwards can ever dream of being and doesn't look like a horse.

A few people think Marcos Ambrose will struggle, but hes finished 17th at 500 and stayed clean, and did a good job at california finishing 21st or 22nd. I think he will suprise a few people.
