It would look better if you copy what's inside the code and paste it in the post, Frankie :p

Mark Martin, of all people, will be in the 84 this week:

Quote:
Martin in the #84 at Homestead: Monday [11-10-2008] on “SIRIUS Speedway” on SIRIUS NASCAR Radio, host Dave Moody is reporting that Mark Martin will drive the #84 Red Bull Toyota this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, replacing Scott Speed. Host, Dave Moody: “Since taking over for the released AJ Allmendinger four races ago, Speed has recorded an average finish of 34.2, including a 40th yesterday in Phoenix. The team has fallen out of the Top-35 in owners’ points now. They now trail the Michael Waltrip Motorsports #47 team by 16 points with one race to go in the battle for that all important 35th position in the owner standings. An official announcement is expected from the team later this afternoon. Mark Martin, of course, enjoys a long relationship with Red Bull Racing general manager Jay Frye, for whom he drove at the former MB3 and Ginn Racing teams. He ran his final scheduled event for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. yesterday in Phoenix. He, of course, will move to Hendrick Motorsports full time in 2009. His arrangement with Red Bull Racing is, we are told, for one race only and will have no impact on the team's long term plans for Scott Speed.(SIRIUS XM Radio PR)(11-10-2008)

Somehow it doesn't make sense, as the entry list also has him in the 8, but if that's the case, then Aric Almirola will replace Martin in the ARMY Chevy.

It was known that Almirola will be driving the #8 in Homestead.

I think Red Bull make a good decision on having an experienced driver in the #84 next weekend. Martin can be able to give that team a decent finish to get them back in the Top 35 and secure them the first 5 races of 2009.

They're going to need something special because Ambrose is on fire.

Speaking of Benson...I haven't heard his plans for next year since he's leaving Bill Davis Racing after Homestead. Is he going to return to Cup or something? Or stay in trucks?

Benson has said recently that he would like to cut back to a part time schedule, he also hinted at maybe running some cup races, BDR's future is very much in doubt so it seems like a good time to look at other options. It makes me wonder if possibly he would split time in a ride that has a rookie driver in it next year like some of the other veterans have done recently.

Jayski is now reporting that Mark Martin will NOT be in the 84 this weekend, likely because he has a contract with Chevy or something.

I have to be honest, it wasn't. It was merely referencing the fact that Ambrose has been a top-25 runner since he got in the car at Atlanta. And Speed has been doing no better than Allmendinger did- he'll be needing a minor miracle to bag a lock-in spot now.

The rumor has Johnny Benson moving to a 2nd Red Horse Racing entry next year with Toyota Certified Used Vehicles as the sponsor.

A couple of other changes to the entry lists.

Nationwide:

-Jeff Burton will be driving the #21 Prilosec/ Walmart Chevrolet.

Truck Series:

-Taylor Malsam will be in the #24 truck, not #52. It will be a Bill Davis Racing Entry, appearently.

Pretty much something has to go horribly wrong early in the race for Jimmie to lose it. Truck race will be most exciting this weekend. Last year it was decided when Skinner lost his wheel. Should be a good race.

Yeah I've been really impressed with his runs thus far. I'd love to see him lock down the top-35 spot this Sunday so he can have a proper chance to settle in and make some noise next season.
