It amuses me that the trucks and Busch(I will always call it that) series are both closer than Cup despite the Chase.

This race starts at 10.45pm my time. That's about as perfect as it can possibly get!

Nationwide entry list

http://www.jayski.com/nationwide/2008/next/34phoenix.htm#entry

Notes:

- 50 entries, with at least 7 drivers involved in a second race of their own: to the garage. There are question marks on 3 others.

- Josh Wise returns to the 00 and Justin Allgaier returns to the 12.

- John Wes Townley will go 2 for 6 this week in the 09 car (meaning that he will miss the race)

- ARCA frontrunner Patrick Sheltra will disgrace himself by making his debut in the 4 car, and then finishing 10 laps down as a result.

- AJ Allmendinger continues his audition for (maybe) a 4th Gillett Evernham seat by racing this week in the 9 Nationwide car.

- No Kyle Busch in the 18 makes this race worth watching. He will be in the 32, therefore Denny Hamlin takes over the keys to the 18.

- Marc Davis returns to the 22.

- Scott Gaylord is this week's mobile chicane in the 52.

- As mentioned in the Random Discussion thread, Camping World East driver Brian Ickler will attempt to make his debut in Robby Gordon's 55 car.

- Stan Silva Jr is entered in the 65. He will DNQ.

- As will Derrike Cope in the 82 entered by Sheltra Motorsports.

- West coast standout Johnny Borneman is entered in his own 83 car.

Trooks entry list:

http://www.jayski.com/cts/next/2008/24phoenix2008.htm#entry

Notes:

- OMG A FULL FIELD! (36 trucks). However, there will be 3 field fillers, with question marks on 2 more.

- Butch Miller will park the 0.

- Johnny Chapman could very well join him in the 07.

- Kevin Harvick decided that he would drive his own 2 truck.

- Youngster Michael Annett has the job of driving the 9 this week.

- Kenny Lee Wallace is in the 15. Here's hoping he pulls off an upset and wins.

- Brad Keselowski drives his own 19 truck for the first time. I'd be interested to see how he goes in below-par equipment.

- Mike Bliss is in the 40. Apparently Paul Poulter was going to drive this truck, but apparently because of the global economic crisis, he couldn't make it to the US and A.

- Taylor Malsam is in the 41. This will probably be the final start for him in that truck, as he's signed with Bill Davis Racing to run a 4th truck next season, and could very well run a BDR Toyota next week at Homestead.

- Craig Wood will be the truck series' mobile chicane in the 50. That's if he doesn't park it.

- Brett Thompson is in the 61.

- Canadian Tire Series hotshot JR Fitzpatrick is in the 71.

- Russ Dugger has the honour of parking the 89.

I read that Patrick Sheltra won't be driving a car from Jay Robinson Racing's stable. Appearently he will be using the #4's owner's points. I believe that the car that Sheltra will be driving is a Dodge.

Maybe not. Coverage begins at 8.30pm. That's weird as the time converter I used suggested that 3.30pm there would be 10.30pm here.

Nevermind. It's now on Sky+.

Those times are impressively close, with Kvapil being last and only 0.619 of a second off the pace.

Reutimann and McMurray continue to impress me with their late-season performances, it would be cool to see one of them win these last two races.

Second week in a row with a big shunt on the first lap.

Don't know what Hornaday was thinking on lap one. Not smart racing from someone in his position.

That was a curious looking incident.
