Jordan Anderson is going to be the leader on the restart. Daniel Dye and the tow truck are both stuck in the grass.

Weird finish. Hill is automatic at this race. I feel like he would have had a hard time hanging on if the pack hadn’t collapsed, but…you gotta be in the lead in case that shit happens.

And no replay of the last lap wreck.

Hill has won all three of the 300-miler Daytona Xfinity races that he’s been in. Literally hasn’t lost yet.

God knows I mix my kids and dogs name up daily when yelling at them, but Adam Alexander seems to do it pretty often when calling runs to the checkered.

The CBS and ESPN teams used to come to the race equipped with a litany of driver stories and garage chats to reference when there wasn't much action on track. Seems like current broadcasters just don't put the effort in anymore.

Maybe because now we have a huge pre-race show before that. It's probably intentional.

(Just watching the race now, after our league's 500.)

NASCAR TV coverage has degraded so much in the last decade

Why do we watch this again?

More to the point... Why do we question why NASCAR has degraded in popularity?

Speedweeks used to be something.

Goody's Dash
IROC
ARCA
Trucks
Busch
Cup

That Friday ticket was the best one to have as you got 3 races in one day. This is just a broken shell of its former self. The Busch Clash being held 3K miles away is idiotic.

We pretty much know that every race will have a crash at the end. I think they might just tell them this in the drivers meeting. "Make sure at least one of you knobs wrecks on the last lap." Gone are the days where the fastest car could put it up front and then see who could figure out a way to get by them. It used to be you'd have 5-8 cars that were the best and they would pull away to settle it amongst themselves... In you know, a race. This is just a lottery now. Has been for a long time.

It's hard to justify wasting time to watch this when so many more entertaining forms of racing where racecraft, strategy and raw speed all meet to put on the show.

When in doubt... always blame the outsider IndyCar guy.

That's how I took that reaction from the booth anyway.

AJ Allmendinger has now raced 11 Daytona 500's without a DNF. That's a pretty impressive stat considering how chaotic those races have been lately.
