plus is quite a safety issue right, that part of the chassis shouldn't bend

If the alternative is the energy going through the driver, then it is better that it bends.

But other things should have bent first.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

1000% Gragson’s fault. Shame he took others with him.

Glad Preece and Larson walked away. That was heinous.

Bent more than one... That would've been very bad on the other side. Destroyed that chassis.

Yeah, it wrecked it more then it first looked. Damn, NASCAR dodged a bad one there, that car is getting taken away by NASCAR R&D

That onboard is just brutal. That could have been hell of a lot worse.

It's either block or just get freight-trained, it's what SS racing is now.

Kinda. He sold out way too early though. Blaney was gonna be on his own, Wallace had a chance to pick up the front bumper of Busch and carry on.

9 times out of 10, DOIN' WAT YOU GOTTA DO FOR THE WIN ends with your car leaving the track in a bin bag. You'd think they might have learned by now

They kinda have a point, that's what stage racing on the last lap is, go for the win or get wrecked and nothing in between

They're also talking to an audience that'll be blaming the 43 if someone came onto pit road before the race and slashed his tyres, so it's nice they don't want to stoke the fires too much

Sucky finish, sucky winner, oh well.

some things I saw in the onboards
-almirola blew a tyre and crashed into the wall two seconds before bubba's crash but was able to keep going
-aj spun trying to make it back around and got stuck before the pit lane entrance
-suarez pounded truex on the backstretch after truex came down from hitting the wall
-blaney ran out of fuel on the cool down lap because briscoe pushed him all the way to the pits

No, in between is make it to the finish by not making bonehead blocks and getting wrecked, collecting some prize money and points, and not destroying a car. Maybe even getting back into contention when the guys ahead of you take themselves out.

Hamlin’s 2020 Daytona 500 win is a perfect example of why not throwing a no-hope block is still a viable path to victory. I know it was a bigger run, but it was effectively the same situation Bubba was in: a block is a guaranteed wreck. Hamlin let it happen, tucked in, and was guaranteed at least third place until Newman and Blaney tangled and rewarded him with the win for keeping a level head.
