I love how NASCAR gets made fun of for being a bunch of guys driving in a circle, and NASCAR's answer to attract more fans is to make them drive in a small circle in downtown LA

I've gotta say, Joe McHale is trying his heart out with the driver intros in an absolute vacuum of crowd excitement.

I don't consider myself someone with much self esteem, but even I have enough to skip this. You people need to practice a little self care.

Eh, any racing is good racing this time of year, and I'm at work, so this is an improvement on the usual Monday for me

I didn't watch last year, but this seems like NASCAR for 5 year olds.

How is Mike Joy not yelling "Wallmendinger!" every chance he gets?

That's what Bathurst was for. I got 12 hours of racing in yesterday and have an iRacing team practice tonight. Hell, I just watched the lackluster at best Battle of the Five Armies over this atrocity.

Now, if it was where it should be, Daytona, of course I'd be tuning in. Instead, I currently have grown men playing flag football on.

Aside from the strained attempts at Hollywood glitz, I don't see what's worth griping about. It's a short track (which I thought the ex-fan critic was asking for more of), the racing's been decent, there's been a lot of contact without outright wrecking, and there's the novelty of seeing Kyle in a Chevy and Ty Gibbs and Noah Gragson being brats. It's acceptable background viewing-level motorsport. Just wish the cars had more power or a longer straight to get some actual speed up.

'Background' being the problem. I used to look forward to the clash, I forgot this was even on until reading this thread

as I said last year - I'd like this track way more if it had the 50's floor plan so it's a proper quarter mile
