Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I know it’s early but the racing isn’t impressing me much this week. It’s not as bad as the Gen 6 but the amount of off-throttle time isn’t what I was hoping to see. Perhaps Fontana just made things shine better with that old ass surface.

This track is on higher altitude, so less horsepower, might be better on other tracks.

Rule of thumb if I remember right is you lose 2% horespower per 1000ft of elevation. Las Vegas is at 2000ft so around a 4% HP loss. On 610 HP is ~24hp. So you could say 25hp less.

This race will go out in infamy. For so many cautions. The drivers won't spin as much after they get used to the car, make better setups and what not. But right now it's looking like a low SOF NIS race.

I'll say one thing, I'm actually tuning in for most NASCAR races for the first time in years. It's all in the amount the cars are moving around and how much the drivers have to finesse them through a corner. Seeing that back in the sport, I can deal with all the other gimmicky stuff like stages, repair clocks etc. I can even almost deal with Danica in the booth.

She gets a lot of hate cause she's Danica but she's alright in the booth imho.

This race has been fun to watch so far, even if the amount of cautions is a bit extreme.

I think she enunciates well which is more than you can say for most NASCAR commentators, but she seems to know less about the new car than I do and weirdly has even forgotten most of what she remembered about the old car; I hear her making Indycar more than stock car analogies. I like commentators that are there for a specific purpose; either they're play by play or they're bringing a specific perspective, whether it's driver, crew chief, team owner, whatever. In that sense Danica's role isn't really clear IMO.

Hamlin spun around. No Caution out for it.

Few second later, caution now out for Hamlin stopped on track.

I can't think of any other motorsport broadcaster that would cut away from a battle for the lead so close to the end of the race. Baffling.
