Look at the top 4, it's a new era indeed.

it's just a plate race, 30 cars wrecked

wait till a real track next week

Blah, blah, blah

Anyway, it's the bigger change from one season to another that it's going to happen in a while. It's never night and day. But not only the car, but new teams are arriving. As I saw in a video, all that Buschwacking kept stars from rising and stole the drivers rooster for several years, now it's very dynamic. Plate or not, the new faces are getting closer and closer to fighting for the win. Or, already doing it - Larson, Elliot, Blaney for instance.

Never seen wheels broken and pointed the wrong way so much.

Really curious to see whether this new car really does what it's supposed to do at the aero-nightmare cookie-cutter ovals starting next week.

on the terms of fragile parts - this was always gonna happen when NASCAR is courting for the lowest bidder for suppliers. Doubt much changes going forward unless it's a safety risk (especially if it means more profits for NASCAR on replacement parts)

I'd guess the rack & pinion steering is making the range alot larger for the fronts as well.

I find interesting that cup cars became flimsy like touring cars and any bash means race over

Didn't they change the layout of Fontana to a short track or was I just dreaming that happened?

Not a dream, but I believe it was delayed and won't be changed until next year's race.

Yep, just saw that on Wikipedia:

Quote:
The reconstruction was accordingly postponed to 2023 so that the 2022 race may still be held on the existing surface.

Aside from what the others have said, iRacing had created an up-and-running virtual version of the proposed layout too. iRacing's Steve Myers talks about it in this Fox interview ahead of the LA Coliseum race, also a layout designed on the sim first.

The Fontana short track is at around the 3:35 mark

NASCAR changed up the damage model this year to be more inline with the video games. Now we have generic dents in the car and hood and major damage is signified by how bent the wheels are looking or just missing completely revealing light grey untextured panels.

Soon to be included are generic sprites of smoke puffs.

All those comments about Mike Joy are valid, but it’s how he’s produced. There are people in their headsets telling them what to say & how to say it.

Which goes back to the main point; the FOX coverage is terrible

It's also because he hasn't got much of a rappore with the new guys yet

He had over a decade with Larry and DW, then just about built up that chemistry with Gordon again and suddenly he goes and he has to do it again

He's getting older now and I don't think Tony gives much of a shit about commentary tbh, just sitting there and taking the paycheque

For the record, I had Stenhouse in the Random Fantasy Game at Daytona. It at least had a chance to turn out well for a while. My pick for California also has the potential for success.

I took the +8100 on Cindric and Stenhouse 1-2 on Draftkings at $100. Imagine my heartbreak seeing $8100 burning up in my face with 6 laps to go.
