Yeah, this playoff format simply sucks. Not to mention Hemric busted out in Cup already. They can't sell him as the next best thing either. NASCAR is just a marketing show these days. Promote popular drivers for merchandise sales and jump on any redneck controversy that comes along for TV numbers. It is what it is.

Daniel Hemric's team overcame some obstacles this weekend. Their hauler hit a deer in Texas and they had to put their primary car into another truck to get to the track. They barely made it with enough time to get the car ready to practice yesterday.

These finales are largely forgotten very quickly in the end. There's only one Atlanta 1992 and no artificial gimmicks will ever beat that. Once a rarity becomes common it's all down to money & propaganda narrative. I really don't pay attention to the points in the current NASCAR era anymore. It's simply worthless.

Yeah, I feel like I need to clarify my post from earlier: Hemric earned that win. I wasn't even thinking about the championship when I wrote that part. I can't even remember who won the championship the last several years because it's so meaningless now.

I never really consider intentionally knocking someone out of the way as "earning" any win. Especially since Cindric was cruising to victory before Dinger spun. Yeah, it was a small tap and it's much preferable than flat out spinning/wrecking someone, but it still never truly sits well with me when a driver wins like that.

I do feel conflicted because I know Hemric isn't normally that kind of driver and he's been screwed out of so many wins. But...I just don't much care for that win nonetheless.

Call me a prude or soft or whatever you want. I get it. Just...giving my view on it.

Reminder that the 2021 Xfinity Series Champion arrived to the track in a Mike Harmon-esque dually, so I'll give him brownie points for that.

Surely a champion only winning one race in a season, takes us back to 2003, truly rendering this “playoff” format completely pointless?
