I was pondering a few hours after the race, why do guys like Elliott and Logano care so much about winning at Daytona that they pull fuckwit blocking moves for the slim chance it will work out in their favour? I get dudes that may never have a shot at winning at a normal track doing whatever it takes (Chris Buescher) but when you've won a few and even won a championship, what does winning at Daytona or Talladega add to your ego? Are your driving peers really gonna give props to you in interviews or quietly reflect afterwards, 'Gee, I wish I had the mad skills Chase showed when he was willing to wreck the high line to hold onto the lead, that's winner's instinct man.'

Honest question, I have no idea why these guys think winning at a superspeedway is any sort of achievement. I always respected guys like Mark Martin for taking the view, "Fuck this place, I'm gonna get through here and focus on winning at a real track next week."
