Hope you got some WATER TRUCKS as my experience with dirt racing here in the UK is "Goddamn get this dirt out of my eyes!"

Also hope it's just the RIGHT AMOUNT of water, otherwise it'll be boggy and horrible.....

Basically, getting a dirt track JUST RIGHT is hard as shit and if they get it right, especially as a "shove a load of dirt on top of a permenant tarmac track so they can take it off again after" then they'll have done a good job

Funny that...forecast doesn't look good for the weekend.

In life, there are three guarantees:
death
taxes
inclement weather threatening a NASCAR weekend

With just the "right" amount of rain, it'll save them a fortune on water bowsers and track conditions will be perfect

Not sure it's possible NASCAR will let them loose in any kind of water falling situation, but I've seen racing on dirt in a drizzle both on bikes and in cars and it actually being some of the best racing you can see because it kept the track slick, but not TOO slick ;)

A little rain won't hurt, but obviously, too much and it'd be so muddy that we may have a situation where cars would be stuck, and no one wants that.

Judging from the short practice video I just saw, Bahrain may have more dirt on track than Bristol by the mid-point.

it's going to pour at some point over the weekend so it depends how much of a plowed cornfield it will be early on, no doubt it takes rubber late but it might open up with multiple lines of rubber with how many laps the Cup race is.

Tires are going to be a huge issue, hearing about RR's down to the cords & the LR's loosing all tread by lap 25 of a run

Saw a picture of track starting to come apart. Would not surprise me they red flag at it at some point to re-prep the track.

I don't know how they prepped it. I had assumed they packed that bastard as hard as concrete and kept no tack in it. Only way I can see the surface staying together. Cup cars are 1000lbs heavier than any purpose built dirt car.

But yes, if it takes rubber and doesn't just polish, it'll be locked down on the bottom. If we're fortunate, it'll either take rubber too and bottom or just get polished black top to bottom so they can actually race. Otherwise, passing will be very hard. Going to be more laps under yellow than green I think.

This race needs to be the thing that tells NASCAR to stop with the gimmicks.

Sounds like rain may be a major problem today...

In other news, JR Heffner found the inside wall in Truck practice yesterday: https://streamable.com/0ius3z

The tyre wear from Cup practice has pushed NASCAR into adding 2 competiton cautions at laps 50 and 150.

So there will be a guaranteed yellow flag every 50 laps.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.
