Oh right, I forgot about this race weekend. Just Cup and Xfinity.

And back to reduced race-only schedule...

I won't be suprised if they try to stick to this for as long as possible, way after it is no longer needed on safety grounds, and then conveniently make it the new normal weekend schedule.

It's not needed on safety grounds at the current moment tbh, teams prefer no practice & qualifying sessions as they don't have to prepare a backup car

regardless of rona or not, NASCAR needs to rethink their weekend schedules once things are fully back to normal - they keep wondering why people don't want to show up when they only have 1 race session on the card for any Cup race day (in which said race will likely be pretty meh too given the current package and rules format) and the races don't start until 2:30PM or 3:30PM local - with the only "pre-race entertainment" being either washed up bands that haven't been relevant in decades doing concerts or in the case of the 2018 ROVAL race - bull fighting, so you basically sit around for 4 hours doing nothing if you get there early to beat traffic

Surely the Cup teams will need regular practice sessions next year when they're all running completely new equipment.

Plus, we need regular qualifying as soon as safely possible. Setting the grid by weird algorithms is as antithetical to the concepts of racing/competition as it gets.

These cars are so good here. It’s been interesting to watch the Xfinity series evolve into an on-track product so much better than Cup.
