If anything, people needed to be mad at NASCAR for sending out a strongly-worded statement prematurely concluding that it was a noose when a "a crew member of Bubba Wallace's team found a noose and was reported to us. We will investigate the matter with the proper authorities and will let you know of the outcome in due time." statement could have sufficed. Even then, they're in a tough spot. Either be transparent about the findings and be fucked, or continue the reputation as a sport that doesn't do any form of transparency and be fucked.

This whole situation is fucked for all parties and the only ones that are the loudest at the moment are the vile ones.

That statement was driven by the social trends and BLM protests. NASCAR would be blasted from all sides if they didn't do anything and try to be silent on the matter. So they are in no win situation. Sadly, the world is over-sensitive and very soft these days. The guy who reported this issue didn't apply common sense and tried to run it back with the BLM crusade. It turned out to be a total failure. Now all the cry wolf attempts will be met with serious reserve. No way another "noose" incident gets reported anytime soon.

Thanks, and yes, while I didn't make the meme, it should ideally say NASCAR instead of Bubba.

You're making "irony" and memes about the burning alive of persecuted men and women who lived in constant fear and oppression the whole of their miserables unluckly lives. You're doing that during a hard time where all that suffering is brought back to everyone's mind in ongoing events.

I love that sort of humour in general, and would never shy from a good holocaust-type joke. And of course, everyone's free to speak their mind. But there is time, place and context for those, and this was not, so don't expect people to react positively to it. Not because they're soft or PC, but because they have a better sense of tactfulness and timing.

yeah, regardless of what happens with the bubba situation, that does not suddenly negate all the issues that persons of color are facing in the US. posting memes right afterwards as if to declare victory is ridiculous.

photo of the pull rope that was tied into a noose was revealed by NASCAR

NASCAR had all of their tracks do a thorough check through, 11 pull ropes were tied into a knot of some form, this was the only one tied into a noose.

What kind of name is Bubbo anyway

It would be cool, a german-carolinian cross...like BUBBA WITTGESTEIN or BUBBA VON ASCHENBACH
