Looking at this preview seems like the rain won't be going away anytime soon. Unless there's a change in the patter, they will have a hard time putting the xFinity and the second Cup race on.

About the race, nice start with 3-wide all over. And what a hearth brake and surprising DNF from Johnson. From that yellow all the way until the end of stage 2, what a caution fest. Even tough it wasn't a wreck-fest.

And what a tight field. Lack of practice might make 1 or 2 cars run away, but it was very competitive trough the field. Also, I wonder if the tire for this race was softer than last year. So many people blowing them. Kinda like Gen4 races - more tire fall-off, more cautions because of tyres blowing, a more entertaining race overall because of it.

Just saw race time: 3h37 for a 400-mile race is a lot indeed.
And Green-flag runs since JJ Wreck until the end of stage 2 were: 13, 9, 26, 13, 9 laps each

The old race they showed instead was badass (1985 Late Model Sportsman/Busch Series at Bristol). If they keep showings gems like that I hope every race gets rained out.

looks like you're gonna get your wish. the storm system is stalled and is supposed to dump torrential rain through thursday night. unless nascar is willing to run the races on friday, both races will be a wash

My box score that I did while watching the race. There were so many comers and goers on this one, it was nice to follow up here. Specially Truex Jr and Kurt Busch.

Basically the line 1 and 2 are the laps and if its
after a Restart (rs+),
before an Yellow Flag (befYF)
Stage Finish (StgF)

Other 1-5 is the top drivers that weren't on there to beguin with. I put on the list the top 20 in points, plus everyone battling for rookie of the year and one or two extras like Kenseth and Newman.

COLL - Car on lead lap
Out (Off) - self explanatory...

GFr are how many laps each green flag run went.
GF are when the run started and ended.

Around there I saw that I wouldn't finish the race before our League race briefing if I kept pausing to do it, so I just watched with no table, and skipping all commercial breaks. Managed to finish 30 into the briefing start. Then on Tuesday finished this right after waking up.

After doing this for half of the race, you don't really need it for the second half, as you already are aware of what's happening beyond what they're showing on tv, that and you also get burned out of doing it, and it also sometimes kills the momentum of the race itself..... But you get used to it. 2019 Roval was so crazy and intense, that I had to rewatch the second half interely to take all the notes. That race I was emotionally spent almost like after watching the avengers last movie. The same for 2019 Daytona 500, but that was because I never watched it live from flag to flag like that, and on our brazillian TV, those onboards during the US Commercial breaks really raved the intensity up. That and also we set the expectation bar really low after other cup races on that speedweeks....

Need more of Nascar while the race doesn't start? Here are a good pastime.

Still need more?

Can't get enough?

It's weird watching the drivers enter the track like they're checking into a hotel, carrying their suit and helmet.
