Dillon continues to block Larson like a choad at the end of stage 2, Larson laps him at the line  Probably the first instance of an interesting stage finish I've seen.

I like to think I keep up with nascar, but I'm watching this race and they keep talking about playoff points and I've realised I've forgotten what the fuck playoff points even are. What's a playoff point?

I've got about as firm a grasp on the current points system as I do the plot of Interstellar. From what I understand, playoff points are what stage winners earn and how NASCAR pretends the stages have meaning. Once the sprint/chase/playoffs begin they use the playoff points to sort the top 16 starting order. After that stages are completely (rather than essentially) meaningless right?

Something like that. It depends on how high/drunk Brian France was at the time.

Surprised that sort of wreck doesn't happen more often, the way people slow on the racing line for the pits here.

Heavy crash for Bowyer and Newman. Ryan had slowed way down to come into the pits and Clint crashed into him at full tilt basically.

Newman was going to pit and Bowyer drilled him.

Did that promo seriously just have Harvick say "I wanna put my foot on your throat, and jump down real hard"?!? Fucking hell, NASCAR is really making a play for the violent psychopath market.

I think I've fallen out of touch with NASCAR to the point that the race looks like practice to me, except with a few more people in the grandstand. I can watch for a little bit, but the TV coverage bores me and I switch to something else.

Looks like the 42 might find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again.

Larson needs to go drive for a team that knows how to lead at the end.

Kez wins.

Both races this weekend were dominated by #42, only to be snatched by Keselowski at the end.
