With the reduced speeds, there will be no tyre wear to assist. Whoever is out front to start the last segment will win.

I don't expect any left sides to be changed unless the rules dictate a 4 tyre stop.

Just glanced in on Cup practice (mostly rained out, it seems). Harvick is fastest with a blistering lap of....170.406 mph.

They look SO FUCKING SLOW. :flag:

It’s basically impossible to encapsulate just how fucking dumb this package is.

As others have said, if this was any other track, (except perhaps indy) then I'd be annoyed

As it stands, they have nothing to lose, racing quality wise.
Even a race full of Yakkity Sax would be better than the usual race full of tumbleweed you get there.

Looks like we have went back to 1987 Charlotte speed wise lol

And just seen this:
Due to the limited amount of practice teams got Friday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, NASCAR will have a Monster Energy Open/All-Star Race combined practice from 10:30-11:30am/et. There will be NO TV coverage.

Watched it for a bit but just couldn't be bothered when they had eight laps of caution after the first stage for no fucking reason whatsoever.

The Truck race was actually pretty entertaining. The restarts were especially insane. Justin Haley had a ridiculous drifting save late in the race.

Calling bullshit on splitters absolves all the other whining.

Prioritize, folks.

I'm curious enough about this package to watch practice, but the current session is not televised or streamed. Meanwhile indycar has been streaming on youtube since 8am.

Good luck finding 4 tyres and fuel for your truck in the next race, Kyle. :slaphead:

And some people were pissy about Indycar being 4mph slower at Indy today...

I kinda figured it would just be a huge pack of cars puttering around and wrecking each other at 150 mph. Turns out they can’t even run nose to tail.

I’m always amazed by NASCAR’s ability to come up short of even the most pathetically low expectations.
