I remember back in the late 90s/early 2000s that Richmond was one of my favorite races. Nowadays the racing there just feels boring as hell. It seems like things went to crap after they repaved it in 2004. I even found this article from 2007 where Dale Earnhardt Jr said the same thing.

Fell to 72nd with a shit last place finish last week. Got the 88 this week.

Also, I enjoy Richmond. Though I wish it were a day race. A few years ago when they were running the top and bottom and Edwards put the bumper to Busch, that was great racing.

Hopefully the ARCA field at Salem is a little better than it was last year. On a random note I saw Kenny Schrader yesterday while I was out in western Indiana checking up on a few short line railroads. Stopped at a Wendy's, saw him come in, and thought "Holy shit, that's Kenny Schrader!". He had his modified car (in trailer) with him, so I'm assuming they're headed somewhere to race this weekend.

I am 459th in the Random Standings with one top 10 finish. I have Joey Logano this week, so I like my chances of improving.

I saw that Josh Berry is going to be in the #22 this weekend.

I've been informed tonight's Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown will be on fanschoice.tv, I'm assuming live.

Currently there isn't a link on the fanschoice website, I think they're going to announce it at the last minute to make sure it's a sell out. Or it may only be linked on Langley's website.

pretty good racing there at the end between Hamlin, Falk & Busch. Hope that the race can continue to be at Langley over the next few years.

Last night's race was decent. It was a bit surprising how dominant Hamlin and Busch were but they did have cars prepared by one of the best teams in the region. I thought Falk might have played the tire strategy to his favor. Not sure if the contact with a lapped car affected his or if he just gave it everything he had and burned up the tires too early.

As for the video, that was the most challenging race I've ever tried to shoot. The temperature drop made things uncomfortable but the winds were crazy. I'm sure some of the gusts were 30+ MPH. Between the wind chill and trying to keep the cameras from blowing off the roof it wasn't really an enjoyable experience for me. But it was a cool event, with a good crowd, for a good cause and it has been announced that the race will return to Langley next season.
