I'm surprised that when Jones saw him dive that deep, he didn't just back off early and drive back under him, like Jimmie did on Carl back in 08. Instead of gassing up on the top and driving into the back of him.

Just saw the finish, only with a crystal ball you would predict such a sudden stop when up to that point, it really didn't looked like he was going to need to stop. Erik was already pretending to make a crossover, but it looked obvious that he needed to just perfect his outside line coming out of the turn to get alongside him on the straight. The way he stopped and how he did, Jones couldn't predict and had nowhere to go.

As for Jimmie Johnson, he could even hear Edwards screaming "BANZAIIIII" and see the crazy look on Edwards face through his mirror BEFORE the turn, much easy to judge what should be done.
