A few things from that video I noticed...

-An appron in turn one, looks good
-Not all the grass is gone, just on the backstretch and short chute.
-I love that they kept the lane markings on the frontstretch.

It also appears that the infield wall is closer to the track on the Long Pond Straightaway. I don't know if it was like that last year. I didn't really notice. In the video it seemed like the lap times were noticably faster than years past.

NASCAR making an effort to improve racing.

The effects will immediately be seen when they race at Charlotte

I was there for the first race at the last repave at Pocono in '96. It was the first race I ever attended, and I couldn't get over how black and pristine the track looked. It looks that way once again, and I'm very much looking forward to the race there in August. It'll also be fun to see those races at 400 miles, because even from the stands, 500 was a long-arsed day in the sun... or rain. Hopefully that doesn't happen AGAIN this year. :(

May attend the 2nd cup race at Pocono. Girlfriend really wants to do a race this year at Pocono or Loudon.

What exactly will that change? Rear side force?

Yea, that's what it sounds like. Reducing some sideforce emphasis and putting it bit more in drivers hands. They rarely get out of shape anymore and even if they do, they save it so easily most times.

Wow, that'd be something. On second thought, maybe it's an All-Star only thing like Jimmie last year. ;)

It's hard to imagine Kenseth in anything other than the 17

Me too, outside of maybe 2 occasions, he always drove #17 in Cup, going back to his Nationwide Series days. The two occasions I can remember him being in something other than #17 in Cup was his first cup series start where he subbed for Bill Elliott in the #94 car at Dover and the other was him DNQ'ing a race at Talladega driving car #60 for Roush before his rookie year.

Pretty sure the number change will be a one off deal for the All Star race.. the timing makes sense. Good way to generate some buzz though.. I'm excited about the multi-year partner.

Stop changing things, nascar drivers!

Every time I see the Home Depot livery, I still think of Stewart, not Logano.

Every time I see the All-Tell Dodge I think of Newman...

Now Kenseth is switching numbers? I'm never going to positively identify a Cup car right again!

Still, good news about the aero changes. They need to do something anyway.

Just to make sure I have it correctly, they're removing the "shark fin" for tracks under 2 miles?

Thank God for that, maybe they'll actually be able to spin all the way around and not just HURRR sideways before straightening themselves out.

Considering Stewart hasn't been in the 20 for 4 years now...you may need your head checked.

Yeah I know....that's the least of my problems! :p

Basically I got properly into the sport around 2002/2003 and my mind will not update a new driver/carset for some stupid reason.
If anyone knows a mental patch with the latest field in it, let me know ;)
