Did you go? I was at Fonda on Thursday for the ASCC race (with Tony) and the Valley Sunday night for the Outlaws (also with Tony). Both safe races.

HUGE crowd at Lebanon Valley. 50/50 winner took home more money that Donny Schatz did for winning the race. Most people I've seen there in quite some time.

Here's a story we hear all too often: a guy was arrested for driving drunk. But here's a twist: he was driving in a race at the time.

Leslie Charles Hunter, 64, of San Jose, Calif. was arrested Friday night on suspicion of driving under the influence at the Watsonville (Calif.) Ocean Speedway. The suspicion came because he was, in the interpretation of the other drivers, racing like a fool. Other drivers had complained that Hunter was recklessly forcing them to the side of the track, and Santa Cruz County police stepped in to investigate.

They found Hunter in the pits, and arrested him on suspicion of DUI and driving with a blood alcohol level higher than 0.08 percent.

Fortunately, there were no injuries. And we don't normally joke about drunk driving, but boy, you've got to be monumentally stupid to race drunk, right? Leave that impairment for the people watching, pal.

Who won at Fonda?

What was the 50/50, I heard it was over $10,000. I always wondered how much of a jackpot you could get at a Cup race if they ever did a 50/50.

Thinking about going to Rolling Wheels Tuesday because I've never seen a WoO show, but the forecast doesn't look good. I might hit the Valley this Saturday, haven't been there yet this year. Made it to Albany-Saratoga earlier this year and had a good time, until the lights went out midway through the Street Stock feature, amazingly everyone completed another half lap in pitch black darkness and came to a safe stop, lol.

I've been to the Wheels a couple times for modified shows but never for the sprints, it's a pretty cool track, ultimately I didn't go tonight because I felt ill after work today. I've seen a couple ASCoC shows, once at Can-Am and once at Mohawk a couple years ago, ridiculously fast at Can-Am because it rained and the track was super tacky. Mohawk was just plain scary to watch, it was awesome but I felt like any second a car was going to vault into the grandstands, also went to Williams Grove last year which is something everybody should do at least once, very cool place.

That's how I feel anytime the NEMA guys are at our track...I hate them.
