Seems to me that the only edit is to get one video over another in that manner (and pausing it by frame). You have to get the video to sync correctly the moment both cars cross the start/finish line since the clock starts/stops the moment they cross the line (not necessarily the timing loop since its spot varies from track to track). That takes some time to do. For this type of comparison video, you have to get it exactly right--and I'm talking about frames here, not thousandths of a second so they can still be off. And yes, I know how to edit videos.

There may have been some manipulation of the results, but I'm not holding my breath. If this is blatant, then fuck you, NASCAR.

Johnny Sauter is driving a car owned by Shigeaki Hattori.

Sadly we'll never know, it's very easy to manipulate video like that, even if Simon doesn't put the point across in a subtle way, he is right.

Even if Fox or NASCAR produced their own video to debunk this guys claim, it would only be as credible as the original Youtube video because it is just so dam easy to manipulate video like that, so easy that my 10 year old son could do it.

Yeah, it's incredibly easy, it just takes time. Even if there's a rebuttal, it still won't answer much.

The garage area shouting match between Gary & Russ Roulo (the #99 team owners) and Chase Elliott's crew after the ARCA race.

Hattori has become a pretty successful team owner in the K&N East Series since his driving days. Brett Moffitt drove for him in the K&N East Series in 2012 and 2013, winning 2 races and finishing 3rd and 2nd in points, respectively.

Just as long as Hattori isn't behind the wheel, that's cool.

But the child is right there, the one who made the tread title is a whining child Dillon fan. :p Or maybe an #3 fan boy, that makes better sense.

Anyway, about the video, in editors like Sony Vegas, you can click on the properties of a particular video and slow him down to anything you want. The X factor is like this: Normal speed is 1.000 and if you want so, you can put 0.990 for example. A very slight change that will be almost impossible to predict. I may find a way to download the qualifying session and make this comparison myself, to see if Truex was really ahead, if my processor allows, I record all the editing process, so you can check that there's no fraud.

Even if the video was slowed down, NASCARs timing agrees that Truex was faster for the entire lap. It only changes it to second after the line. You could argue that the timing on the TV is delayed, and therefore it changed just before the line and we only seen it afterwards, but for that to be true, Truex would need to be traveling slower than Dillon, which he wasn't. And if he was, it certainly wasn't enough of a speed difference to produce the 0.04 gap that they claim.

that's not NASCAR's timing, it's FOX's own separate system

Which is fed from NASCARs timing system at the circuit. Same as every other circuit. FOX just have a container for the raw data which is from the circuit feed.

First caution for a spin in 4 on lap 19.

The longest green flag run last year was 8 laps.
