nice, congrads man

so MacDonald is going arca racing? I don't believe his team has done an arca race before.

It's his Nationwide car he ran with DJ Kennington at Daytona in 2009, he's run it in a test at Talladega but never the races. He only has a super speedway ARCA car, but shares a shop with Rick Ware (Ware's trucks are Macdonald's trucks). He's got a K&N car too.

It'll be this same car.

At least you've had some practice avoiding flipperz :P

Seriously, that's awesome news for you man. If I can find my way back down to Florida for Shootout weekend, I'll be there.

Really cool zippy!! Would this be your first foray into a NASCAR/ARCA event?

Sure will, aside from working with the Petty Driving Experience this year I don't have a huge amount on time behind the wheel of a big car. I couple times in a late model around NC this year and the Petty cars is it.

To be honest I'm extremely nervous, just with how the ARCA races usually end up, but the test should help ease that feeling. I know ARCA is VERY strict with how they let drivers on the track. I'll have to go through several classes before I even get on track, then will be closely monitored my first single car run. Fingers crossed we get to do some drafting at the end of the test. After the test I'll be meeting with Brett Bodine about how to go about getting approved for some NASCAR starts.

Thanks everyone!

It has been announced that ARCA will be returning to the New Jersey Motorsports Park the weekend of May 23rd and 24th. That means, at least 1 road course will be on the schedule.

None of the recent road course races have been on TV, though I believe the 2008 race at New Jersey was filmed.

Kansas was confirmed for October 16 and will end the season.

I hope there is more TV coverage of ARCA next year, the added coverage the last 2 years has been promising (delayed on NBCSN in 2013 and live on CBSSN in 2014, both years produced by Rick Benjamin's group)

Saw a post on another board that ARCA is in talks with Nashville Fairgrounds again. Hopefully this time they get to run there if that's the case. I'm just hoping Winchester & IRP make it back next year.
