I'm surprised at some of the schemes because in years past the spoiler was always a no-no. It had to be all one color and could not have any advertisements on it. Now the 42 has a multicolor spoiler and the others have stars and the NASCAR Unites logo on them.

I believe the patriotic stuff has been overdone.

god forbid you say that on a nascar-only board, they'd act like you're hitler.

(it happened to me earlier tonight)

The theme has been used up and worn out. We get it. You love america. You don't need to be flamboyantly gay to be gay, know what I mean? Also of note, those side skirts don't really look that much shorter. Why don't we just take them off altogether and see what happens.

It's Memorial Day weekend for Christ sakes. Sure a few of those cars just look flat out bad but some of them are actually quite nice, but fuck it because the progressive idea now in this country is essentially anything that shows the slightest bit of Patriotisim during a Memorial Day weekend is horrible. Can't wait for Daytona now, that should be fun too.

That's pretty cool.

Too bad it's being driven by one of the Cope Twins.

I actually do really like Kevin Harvick's car. They've done some cool things with his car compared to the past few years of plain Budweiser cars.

The base is was originally used by Benny Gordon in the 24 at Texas, Copes team just slapped their number and sponsors on top of it according to my friend who designed it.

Good lord, Shane, settle down, and don't jump to conclusions. None of us said it was bad to be patriotic. I love my country. I'm proud as all hell to call myself an American. But I don't flaunt that everywhere I go. I don't need to, and NASCAR doesn't need to flaunt that all the time. It's the most quintessentially American sport around. They don't need ten cars with tacky red/white/blue paint schemes to prove that.

And I take offense to your last bit. I am a progressive, but I don't consider "the slightest bit of patriotism during a Memorial Day weekend" to be horrible. You say "progressive" like it's a bad thing. It's not.

And I'm not advocating stars and stripes along with red and blue paint schemes for every race on the schedule and nobody said you have to "flaunt it" everywhere you go either.
But to bitch about it on Memorial Day weekend (and I'm sure it will happen again at Daytona) that theme is used and worn out? It is literally that time of the year for this kinda stuff. I just don't get it.

they're running these cars for every race between now and the firecracker.

Which, by the way, is overkill.
