The guy in 10th with 5 to go. Where do you think you're going to end up if you don't pull out of line. Are you waiting for the big crash to finish 4th? This shit isn't rocket science, you pull out and hope for the best. How is it smart waiting for other cars to control your destiny? How is that any different than pulling out and hoping someone goes with you? Its a chance no matter what you do. MAKE YOUR OWN DESTINY

All I fear this race will do is give nascar more excuses to throw dubious cautions late in plate races to ensure a pack finish

I saw people moving out of line back down the pack and they weren't able to make progress, so you may not have had 42 Greg Biffles; what you had instead were a number of people who couldn't be bothered to try it as they knew that it was futile, so they sat back waiting for whatever points they got.

Of course, if everyone was still in the championship hunt instead of just whoever is in the chase, you might get a higher number of drivers in such a circumstance who are willing to and try to make a desperate move to the front.

But if I wasn't in the chase, and I was sitting 22nd in a single file line, and I saw that even if you broke out of line with a few people you didn't make any kind of progress, I wouldn't really be bothered with going for the win and I'd sit back and make sure I didn't wreck my car.

It was still dumb. It was one of the worst finishes I've seen at a plate track.

Everything was pretty good until the last 10 or so laps. Oh well.

The Race was very entertaining for the most of the time.Only the last 10 laps where a letdown.Really strange race because normally the last 10 laps are the ones you waiting for the whole race......

And NO I do not want 23 cars crashing and Drivers beeing hurt.I want the race decided at the line.If this includes a crazy crash(like Yesterday)where everyone walks away I´ll take that!

I think the problem with plate racing is that when they get it right it's some of the best stuff motorsport has to offer. But when they get it wrong it's some of the most pointless. There's nothing in between. That's why we all sit here year after year getting angry on the internet.

Danica Patrick was running in the top 10 during the middle of the race. Everyone musta been driving really hard.

Just to open an idea for discussion: What if they do a green-white-checkered restart if the caution comes out on the final lap?

On one hand, it would help stop "the caution is out, the field is frozen" finishes like this, but on the other hand, it might be cruel to restart the race when the leader is so close to winning it.

What do you guys think?

Austin Dillon at least has a sense of humor about what happened on the final lap. Here is what he posted on twitter.

They'd never get the races finished, you've gotta draw the line somewhere.

I'd wager tyres had a lot to do with that ending as well, as soon as they started getting single file I said to the Mrs the tyres were going off and they've never get back into a pack, she looked at me as if I was nuts, she was amazed I was still awake

ARCA has something similar, they'll do a restart with the green and white together, but the cars won't even be up to speed when they get to the checkered.
